Chapter 775: I Cant Help It Either

Previous Chapter
“How about this one? Fluffy fur with a floral dress, a fresh and cute combo, perfect for a college girl, gives off that first love vibe.”
“Trench coat, short skirt, detective hat-the latest look from Delarose’s hit suspense drama ‘Silver Blood: The Eight Wonders.’ You look even better than Delarose, you’ll definitely catch his eye!”
“Windbreaker, sweatpants, single ponytail-who can resist the sweetness of a sporty girl?”
“How about a cool and aloof style? A touch of restraint only makes you more desirable to the opposite sex.”
“Or just go for sexy-super short skirt, crop top, over-the-knee socks, radiating youthful energy!”
“Or why not just wear your school uniform? But remember to wear a full set of underwear, and as for lingerie, at least wait until a few dates later to consider it.”
Inside the Sparkling Star Boutique at Sunset Hall, four vibrant college girls tried on outfit after outfit in front of the full-length mirror, drawing the attention of all the men waiting for their girlfriends in the lounge area. Even the female customers couldn’t help but sneak a glance to pick up some tips.
By the end, it wasn’t just about helping Sonya pick out her date combat attire-Lois, Adelle, and even Engulite took the chance to dress up as well.
Unlike Adelle, who often bragged about her fiancé, the village girl’s shy, rosy budding romance stirred the college girls’ longing for love even more. In their hearts, they all thought, “I want a sweet romance too, and if not, even the original flavor would do.”
“Huh?” Engulite exclaimed in surprise. “It’s only 4 PM, how did Galaxia enter night already?”
Everyone looked up and saw the dazzling Stars and the Milky Way hanging upside down through the skylight.
Adelle opened the Holographic Screen to check the weather forecast, then shook her head and said, “No notice from the Meteorological Bureau… Did the weather control system fail?”
The national weather was all regulated by the Meteorological Bureau-if they said it would rain, it rained; if they said it would be sunny, it was sunny. Some special agricultural towns could even go half a year without rain, then rain nonstop for the next half.
Everyone found it odd but didn’t think much of it. The customers even thought it was fun for night to fall in the afternoon-something that had never happened before, maybe a once-in-a-century event-so they all took photos to commemorate it.
Sonya suddenly stopped in her tracks, pausing in front of a gift shop.
Lois: “You want to buy a gift?”
“Yeah.”
“Generally, on a first date, the girl should just receive gifts, right?” Adelle said. “You should wait for him to give you a gift first, then return the favor on the next date-I bought so many snacks for my cabinet just for return gifts.”
“What if the other person didn’t prepare a gift?” Engulite asked. “Wouldn’t that ruin the game?”
Adelle shrugged. “No idea. My boyfriend isn’t that dumb. If he is, just change to another one, bye-bye means bye-bye, the next one will be even sweeter…”
Lois smacked Adelle on the head and said to Sonya, “Don’t listen to her nonsense. Of course girls should be reserved and self-respecting, but the desire to be good to someone is just as precious. A thousand declarations of love can’t compare to the blush of a heart-throbbing moment.”
Sonya responded instantly, as if someone had pressed a button: “‘Blade of Shifting Time,’ episode thirteen, 11 minutes 26 seconds-Delarose said that to her friend.”
Adelle was stunned. “I remember that line is from ‘Blade of Shifting Time,’ and I think it’s episode thirteen, but there’s no way I’d remember the exact minute and second… Sonya, just how many times have you watched that show! And Lois, didn’t you say you don’t like Delarose’s dramas?”
Lois turned her head away. “You all watched it so many times, I just happened to remember that line as I passed by.”
Although Adelle didn’t seem supportive before entering the shop, once inside she was the most enthusiastic about helping Sonya pick a gift. “How about this crystal pendant? Like a shackle around his neck!”
“This bracelet is nice too-make him wear it on his wrist, like a dog tag to show he’s taken!”
“This toiletry set is good too, smells really fresh, and if it mixes with any other scent it’ll be obvious right away. You’ll instantly know if he’s been around other girls.”
Sonya paused, a hint of excitement on her face.
Engulite lagged a few steps behind, quietly pulling Lois aside to ask, “Is Adelle deliberately picking bad gifts to sabotage Sonya?”
Lois: “Have you met her fiancé?”
“No.”
“If you had, you’d know her actions are exactly as they seem-her bitchiness is as clear as a mirror,” Lois said. “If her boyfriend ever shows up with an ‘Adelle Exclusive’ stamp on his face, I wouldn’t be surprised. Still, she really does like him. There are plenty of engaged couples at Swordflower College, but she’s the only one who always brings up her fiancé to avoid inappropriate interactions with other guys.”
Just then, Sonya suddenly stopped in front of a counter, her eyes lighting up as she stared at the items in the glass case.
Adelle froze, quickly grabbing Sonya. “You’re not really thinking of giving this, are you? Normally, this is something a guy should buy for you! Calm down, where’s your sword saint dignity?”
Lois couldn’t help but advise, “It’s your first date. Even if you want to give this kind of gift, you should wait until after a few more dates, right?”
Engulite glanced over and asked, “Sonya, do you really want to buy it?”
“Yeah.”
“Then buy it. Hesitation isn’t for a Swordmaster,” Engulite said. “If you want something, go for it. If you want to do something, work hard to make it happen. A Swordmaster should face her feelings openly-don’t make the one you like sad, and don’t let yourself down.”
Hearing these words, the Stretching Paw Sword Saint finally made up his mind and signaled the counter attendant to buy the gift.
But just then, the village girl’s Miracle wristband suddenly vibrated violently, and the Holographic Screen popped up directly, a message appearing in her view without permission.
However, no one else’s wristband had this anomaly. Lois pulled Sonya aside and asked in a low voice, “What happened? Can you tell us?”
Sonya focused her gaze, her expression changing slightly: “Emergency notice from the Throne Hall.”
Throne Hall!?
Everyone’s eyes widened-the Throne Hall, House of Nobles, and Watch Fortress were the three major violent institutions on the surface of Stars Kingdom. The Starburst Guard under the Throne Hall was the most elite, the Griffin Squad of the House of Nobles was the most widespread, and the legion of the Watch Fortress had the largest numbers. Among them, the Throne Hall was the most mysterious, and the Starburst Guard existed solely to protect the Stars royal family.
Sonya, a sword peerage noble, how could she be involved with the Throne Hall?
“Several foreign legendary sorcerers have broken into Stars Kingdom again. The Throne Hall is urgently summoning all Sanctuary Legends of Galaxia to join the Starburst Guard in eliminating two of the intruders.” Sonya spoke slowly, “According to spellforce vibration detection, the last area of activity for these two intruders is… the Solitaire Zone?!”
Everyone could hear the oddness in Sonya’s voice. Adelle thought for a moment and said, “Solitaire Zone sounds familiar… ah, isn’t that the famous merchant villa district?”
“Yes,” Lois said, “and we’ve been to the Solitaire Zone too, do you remember?”
Engulite suddenly understood: “Right, last time we were invited to Felix’s house, it was a villa in the Solitaire Zone.”
“Felix won’t be in trouble, right?” Adelle laughed, “Like running into a legendary sorcerer in distress and getting taken hostage or something…”
“Don’t talk nonsense.” Lois knocked Adelle on the head, then turned to Sonya, her face a bit uneasy: “Sonya, can’t you refuse this summons? Your date tonight…”
Only now did the others react-Sonya was about to go on her date soon!
This summons from the Throne Hall completely clashes with her date!
Adelle’s bad idea came almost instantly: “Just pretend you’re in the Virtual Realm and didn’t receive the message!”
Lois: “…This is a built-in information system, it shows a ‘read’ status. As soon as Sonya looks at it, the Throne Hall will know she got the message.”
“What, this inhumane feature still hasn’t been canceled?” Adelle was furious. “Whoever designed this should be strung up on a lamppost!”
“I can’t refuse,” Sonya let out a long breath and shook her head. “This is a mandatory summons from the Throne Hall. The sword peerage’s rights and duties include ‘assisting national agencies in apprehending dangerous suspects.’ Refusal is considered treason-not only will all noble rights be revoked, but afterward I’ll face joint trial by the Throne Hall and House of Nobles. Even if I can’t fight, I must respond to the summons and explain why.”
“And…”
Sonya looked at the ‘Solitaire Zone’ and ‘two legendary sorcerers’ in the message, and a storm was already raging in her heart.
How could she not know that Ashe was implicated this time!
Because a foreign legend broke into the Solitaire Zone, spellforce vibration detection focused on the area, and as a result, Ashe was found too… And the reason Ashe couldn’t pass the detection was because he had condensed a trace of Shadowblade Spellforce in last night’s battle!
This spellforce vibration detection was definitely targeting abnormal spellforce. If Ashe still only had Rainbow spellforce, there would be no problem at all; it’s perfectly normal for several sanctuary sorcerers to linger in the Solitaire Zone. Previously, the reason Ashe and the other two were mistaken for sanctuary sorcerers was because Ashe didn’t show any abnormal spellforce vibration.
The difficulty of hiding as a legendary sorcerer versus a sanctuary sorcerer is not even on the same level. Galaxia has more than twenty sanctuary sorcerers, and they’re basically all nobility. There’s no travel ban nationwide, so who knows if the sanctuary sorcerer you detected is a local or a foreigner? If you arrest the wrong person, the sanctuary sorcerer will complain that Galaxia discriminates against outsiders.
But legendary sorcerers are different. Several legendary sorcerers rarely move around. If you detect abnormal spellforce in an unusual location, that’s definitely a foreign friend you can exchange for 500,000 gold coins!
So Sonya couldn’t refuse the summons, and she had to participate!
But this time, the Throne Hall was sending out the Starburst Guard in force and summoning all Sanctuary Legends of Galaxia… They were determined to kill the legendary invaders, leaving no chance for escape… If, during the siege, she really ran into Ashe…
“Notify your boyfriend first and cancel tonight’s date,” Lois said. “After all, there’s nothing you can do.”
“Who could have predicted that an important date night would be exploited by the royal family?” Adelle shrugged. “It’s all these foreigners suddenly barging in.”
Engulite noticed the village girl seemed a bit off. “Sonya, are you okay?”
The Stretching Paw Sword Saint shook his head. “I’m fine.”
At this moment, the attendant handed over the wrapped gift box.
Sonya took the gift box, gently pushed it open with her thumb, revealing the pair of couple rings wrapped in red velvet inside.
“You’re right.”
Sonya closed the box, gripped it tightly in her hand, the corners of her mouth lifting slightly, and in her ruby eyes shone a relaxed ease as if all shackles had been cast aside. She smiled and said:
“I really can’t do anything about it.”
