Chapter 772: A Group of Evil Sorcerers!

Previous Chapter
Contrary to Ashe’s expectations, the Sorcerer’s Handbook did not present a new Search activity.
Because previously, as soon as he arrived at Gospel or Senlo, a new Search activity would immediately appear, Ashe thought that as long as he kept running, he would inevitably trigger a Search activity. Turns out, this wasn’t a fixed rule.
However, now he also realized that these so-called Search activities probably had nothing to do with region or time, but rather with the people around him.
He drew the Black and White Witch because he would meet Lise Deya;
He drew Yolan Vesser because he had just met Silver Lantern.
So is it because Ashe hasn’t yet encountered someone who can be recognized by the operator system?
He was even thinking that if a new operator joined, it might help buffer the conflict between the sword Princess and the Witch… After all, if you can’t solve a problem, just add a new one!
Thinking this, Ashe blinked and clicked on “Procurement Center,” seeing that he still had enough money to buy A Box of Source Crystals for twenty draws, but after thinking it over, he only bought one Source Crystal. He had also checked in for two Source Crystals in the past two days, just enough for one draw!
A single draw for a Miracle!
With unreasonable confidence and a hopeful sense of luck, Ashe chose “Search Once.” The game interface instantly changed, and he even seemed to hear the system’s disdainful voice.
Golden light!
Ashe immediately stood at attention and saluted-he really did draw a Miracle with a single pull!
However, as the golden light faded, what appeared before Ashe was not a new operator, but…
“Gate of the Minor Four Pillars: A small artifact made using the heart’s blood of the Four Pillars, it allows sorcerers with the same Virtual Realm progress to enter the Virtual Realm together. No more than four people may enter, and team members cannot be more than five meters from the holder.
The Gate of the Minor Four Pillars can be used as the Gate of Truth, and when entering the Virtual Realm through it, team members can gain up to 5% Experience Sharing.
Note: The Gate of the Minor Four Pillars looks like a small cubic frame, tiny and quite cute. But really, who could possibly take the heart’s blood of the Four Pillars to make an artifact?”
Ashe pondered for a moment and came to a conclusion-this is a super low-end version of the “virtual realm exploration” system.
“Virtual realm exploration” doesn’t require team members to have the same Virtual Realm progress, allowing veterans to take newcomers; it doesn’t restrict team member distance, and people from different Kingdoms can team up to explore the Virtual Realm together; as for the 5% Experience Sharing of the Gate of the Minor Four Pillars, it’s nothing compared to the Bond.
The only meaningful aspect is that the Gate of the Minor Four Pillars can be used as the Gate of Truth, which means that even if Ashe still doesn’t have an autonomous spirit, he can enter the Virtual Realm alone-though he no longer has any interest in voluntarily working overtime.
Somewhat useful, but not entirely so.
However, for other sorcerers, the Gate of the Minor Four Pillars is truly worthy of being called an artifact. Aside from Ashe and his group, it’s extremely difficult for other sorcerers to team up for Virtual Realm exploration. Such a convenient team tool, if made public, could even trigger a war among the Six Nations.
Ashe looked at the Search interface. Luck was good today, should he…
He suddenly shook his head, abandoning such foolish gambling thoughts, stood up, stretched lazily, and pushed open the door to go out.
Ashe lived in a room on the second floor. Outside, it was empty with no one around-not because they had driven out the servants, but because this villa usually had no servants managing it. He had just taken two steps when he saw Felix, wearing a scarf, making breakfast in the open kitchen.
Isn’t there a kitchen on the first floor too… Ashe walked over and asked, “What’s for breakfast?”
Felix looked up at him, a little absent-minded-why could this guy ask so naturally? Does he have no shame?
“…Lala Fatty Pavni full meal.”
“What drinks are there?”
“Only coffee and milk.”
“Harvey and I want milk, Igor wants coffee.”
Felix was silent for a moment. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll poison you? I’m well-versed in the Toxic spell Sect.”
“In Igor’s words, I like dealing with smart people.” Ashe leaned against the kitchen counter and said, “As long as you’re sane, you’ll only be thinking about how to get rid of us as soon as possible, not about dragging our relationship onto the unpredictable stage of fate.”
“If things get out of hand, we’ll just have to keep running, but your Four Pillars Cult will be exposed under the Stars. Right now, in the entire Stars Kingdom, besides ourselves, you’re the ones who least want us to get caught. Felix, you don’t want the Four Pillars Cult exposed, do you?”
“Since there’s a foundation of mutual trust between us, why bother putting on a show of hostility? Wouldn’t it be nice if we all just got through this brief period of cohabitation together?”
“You’re only this calm because you’re a sanctuary sorcerer.” Felix exposed him with a single sentence.
“Not just that, but also because you’re not a sanctuary sorcerer.” Ashe shrugged. “It feels great to bully the weak! When will breakfast be ready?”
Felix said calmly, “Have you ever heard the saying, when you speak harshly to the waiter, you’d better be prepared to eat spit?”
Ashe blinked and declared surrender: “Alright, then you only need to make Igor’s and Harvey’s. Teach me, I’ll make my own.”
Felix: “…?”
Ashe really meant what he said. After watching Felix’s method once, he only made a portion for himself. Felix silently took notes in his mind: These three only appear united on the surface, their relationship is average, not much of a threat.
“When you’re ready to leave, will you kill me?” she suddenly asked.
“Why would you ask that?” Ashe retorted.
“Because you’re not good people,” Felix said bluntly. “You’re all Evil Sorcerers. Evil Sorcerers kill without needing a reason.”
“You’d better watch your words,” Ashe narrowed his eyes. “You can insult me, but if you want to insult my friends… then you can’t insult me.”
Felix’s hand shook, and a sunny-side-up egg flew out. Ashe glanced at it, “Don’t waste it, save it for Alice.”
To Ashe’s surprise, Felix didn’t ask who Alice was, but nodded and picked up the egg.
“Why do you think we’re Evil Sorcerers?” Ashe continued the topic. “We haven’t done anything bad since coming to the Stars, have we? And we even dragged your Four Pillars Cult into this, which is practically a good deed.”
Felix’s face flushed with anger, and she chopped the luncheon meat hard, as if it were Ashe’s flesh: “You haven’t done anything bad, only because you haven’t had the chance yet.”
“Someone as cautious as Mr. Bukin of the Mental Sanctuary, if given the opportunity, would definitely set up a secret crime organization in Galaxia to cover himself; Mr. Harvey of the Necromancy Sanctuary’s craving for corpses is plain to see-if he had the time, every cemetery in Galaxia would be his hunting ground, and it wouldn’t be impossible for him to commit murder himself.”
“What about me?” Ashe pointed at himself. “No matter how you look at me, I don’t seem like an Evil Sorcerer, do I?”
“You’re even more dangerous,” Felix said coldly. “Mr. Bukin’s caution comes from his vigilance toward the environment, Mr. Harvey’s greed comes from his pursuit of Spellcasting, but you have no needs at all, yet you don’t care about being wanted by the entire Stars Kingdom. People like you, who treat the laws of the Kingdom as nothing and do as you please, are the most unfathomable Evil Sorcerers.”
“Though I appreciate your high opinion, I’m really not as… carefree as you think.” Ashe shrugged. “If you spent months constantly being hunted, chasing and being chased, crisis after crisis, all in a life full of fantasy, you’d be as indifferent as I am. Actually, it’s not indifference, just exhaustion-too tired to even complain.”
“Don’t be fooled by the fact that I’m a sanctuary sorcerer now. I’d rather not have gone through all this, and just quietly be an ordinary sorcerer.”
“Oh… is that so.” Felix looked at Ashe seriously and found that there was indeed a trace of fatigue between his brows. This expression of detachment reminded her of herself, who had grown up under constant assassination attempts-the first time was terror, the tenth time was calm, the hundredth time was just exhaustion.
Felix believed him a little, and couldn’t help but feel a bit of pity for Ashe. What kind of stormy experiences must he have gone through to be so unmoved by being wanted across the whole country?
Ashe finished his breakfast, placed it on a tray, and picked it up. Felix asked, “Where are you going?”
“To eat on the first floor,” Ashe said. “By the way, why did you come to the second-floor kitchen? Isn’t there a kitchen on the first floor too?”
Felix glanced at him, then walked out, signaling him to follow. The two walked to the stairs on the second floor and looked down at the hall below.
The hall, which had been tidy and empty last night, was now packed with a constant stream of bugs, ants, cockroaches, centipedes, and maggots. A coffin was placed in the center of the hall, and all the living creatures were frantically swarming into the corpse inside the coffin. At first glance, it looked like the bugs were devouring the corpse, but on closer inspection, it seemed as if the corpse was devouring the bugs. Countless Gu insects churned inside the coffin, like a sea of pale white.
Harvey sat in front of the coffin, seemingly resting with his eyes closed.
“So now you know why I think you’re Evil Sorcerers, right?” Felix took two steps back, covering her mouth and nose with her right hand, and asked calmly.
Ashe looked at the hall, then at Felix, tilted his head, and showed a puzzled expression.
“What’s wrong with this?”
Felix’s mouth twitched, and she pointed at the hall on the first floor, shouting, “Do you really need me to explain?!”
Ashe looked at the angry Felix in confusion, shook his head, and carried both his and Harvey’s trays downstairs. He avoided the bugs on the floor and handed the tray to Harvey: “That sunny-side-up egg is for Alice, it fell on the floor.”
“Thanks.”
“Felix made yours.”
Harvey looked up at Felix, waved his hand in thanks, and then sat in the center of the swarming bugs to eat breakfast.
Ashe sat at a table where no bugs could crawl, completely ignoring the disgusting scene and the stench of rot nearby. He opened the living room Holographic Screen to watch a TV drama, calmly enjoying his breakfast.
I see, I understand completely now.
Watching this scene from the second floor, Felix suddenly saw the light.
So these people are all Evil Sorcerers who are insane to the core, yet still think they’re perfectly normal!
