Tektronixwarrantsthattheproductsthatitmanufacturesandsellswillbefreefromdefects
inmaterialsandworkmanshipforaperiodofone(1)yearfromthedateofpurchasefrom
anauthorizedTektronixdistributor.Ifanysuchproductprovesdefectiveduringthis
warrantyperiod,Tektronix,atitsoption,eitherwillrepairthedefectiveproductwithout
chargeforpartsandlabor,orwillprovideareplacementinexchangeforthedefective
product.Batteriesareexcludedfromthiswarranty.
Inordertoobtainserviceunderthiswarranty,CustomermustnotifyTektronixofthe
defectbeforetheexpirationofthewarrantyperiodandmakesuitablearrangementsforthe
performanceofservice.Customershallberesponsibleforpackagingandshippingthe
defectiveproducttotheservicecenterdesignatedbyTektronix,shippingchargesprepaid,
andwithacopyofcustomerproofofpurchase.Tektronixshallpayforthereturnofthe
producttoCustomeriftheshipmentistoalocationwithinthecountryinwhichthe
Tektronixservicecenterislocated.Customershallberesponsibleforpayingallshipping
charges,duties,taxes,andanyotherchargesforproductsreturnedtoanyotherlocations.
Thiswarrantyshallnotapplytoanydefect,failureordamagecausedbyimproperuseor
improperorinadequatemaintenanceandcare.Tektronixshallnotbeobligatedtofurnish
serviceunderthiswarrantya)torepairdamageresultingfromattemptsbypersonnelother
thanTektronixrepresentativestoinstall,repairorservicetheproduct;b)torepairdamage
resultingfromimproperuseorconnectiontoincompatibleequipment;c)torepairany
damageormalfunctioncausedbytheuseofnon-Tektronixsupplies;ord)toservicea
productthathasbeenmodifiedorintegratedwithotherproductswhentheeffectofsuch
modificationorintegrationincreasesthetimeordifficultyofservicingtheproduct.
