To my Figs, big and little. I couldn’t even imagine this
whole adventure without all four of you in it every day.
Acknowledgments
First I want to thank all the wonderful sewers and quilters who have added their work and expertise
to the creation of the projects in this book. You all know that I literally couldn’t do it without you, nor
would I want to. Working together with all of you is a blessing and a joy! Thank you for all of your work
and support of Fig Tree over the years.
Cheryl, I have learned so much from you since that first Monday morning you came to sew in
the studio. Your sewing expertise is a refreshing joy for me, and your life stories are something I
look forward to each week. You have taught me more than you will ever know and have become our
“pretend grandma” in the process!
Sherri (www.aquiltinglife.blogspot.com) and Valerie, your work on the quilts in this book is as
amazing as all of your work always is. Both of you never cease to amaze me with your speed,
accuracy, and helpful spirit whenever I have a deadline! Thank you both for your dedication and loyalty
to me over the years. I so wish you both lived closer.
Diana ([email protected]): You know this to be true because I have told you this a hundred
times: My quilts are just not the same without your amazing quilting work to finish them into the
beauties that they now are. Your work on each and every single quilt and quilted item in this book
does not go unnoticed! I will always think of you as “my quilter”. All mine. Thank you!
A huge thank you goes out to MODA fabrics and especially to Mark, Cheryl, and Lissa for your
support of all of my endeavors, fabric ideas and for your amazing marketing and business help over
the years. On a practical note, I am so grateful for all of the amazing fabric that is the reason for most
of the projects in this book. MODA rocks!
I also want to thank Roxane, my editor, for attending my class at the Creative Connection, hosting
that first fun dinner out, and believing in the idea of this book. Even through maternity leave and
dozens of sleepless nights you have been a wonderful support and help throughout the trickiest
portions of making this book come together. Thank you for all your calmness, wisdom, and support!
A special thank you also to Charlotte, and anyone else on the design and editing team, who has
had to put up with my questions, my scribbles, my notes, and my emails. You have turned a thousand
scraps of paper and fabric into a wonderful book.
John Wiley & Sons would like to thank the following people for their invaluable help in testing
projects in this book prior to publication:
