gorillas), Arabia, continental Europe and the Caribbean. Throughout, they have promoted an f
interdisciplinary, “One Health”, approach to veterinary and biological education, wildlife e
conservation and forensic science.

Now based in the United Kingdom, the Coopers teach at universities and continue their work in

East Africa with wildlife, domesticated animals and local communities.

Practice
John and Margaret Cooper believe that those involved in legal cases concerning animals should e
be trained in forensic techniques. Greater competence in the collection and presentation of

evidence and in the preparation of reports will, they argue, promote wildlife conservation,
animal welfare, professional standards and the judicial process. s
