NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 16th December, 2014
S.O. 123 (E).—Whereas on 6th November, 2013, the Medical Council of India was re-constituted in exercise of
the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3A of the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2013;
Whereas in pursuance of the provision of sub-section (1)(b) of Section 3 of the Indian Medical Council Act,
1956 (102 of 1956), the following doctors were elected as member of the Medical Council of India representing Dr. NTR
University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh vide notification dated 5.11.2013 in Gazette of India:

Whereas the Medical Council of India has informed that after the enactment of Andhra Pradesh Reorganization
Act, 2014, whereby the State of Telengana has now by Dr. NTR University of Health Science Act, 1986 (Telengana
Adopting Order) 2014, formed its own Health University – Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences for the
State of Telengana in order to grant affiliation to various medical & dental colleges situated in the newly constituted
State. After the formation of the Health University for the State of Telengana, the Medical Colleges which were earlier
affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh and are now within the territory of the State of
Telangana are affiliated to the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences.
And whereas the sub-section 3 of Section 7 of the IMC Act, 1956 states,—“an elected or nominated member
shall be deemed to have vacated his seat if he is absent without excuse, sufficient in the opinion of the Council, from
three consecutive ordinary meetings of the Council or, in the case of member elected under clause (b) of sub-section (1)
of Section 3, if he ceases to be a member of the faculty of the University concerned, or in the case of a member elected
under clause (c) or clause (d) of that sub-section, if he ceases to be a person on the State Medical Register concerned”.
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provision of sub-section 3 of Section 7 of the IMC, 1956, Dr. Venkatesh
Kakollu and Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy are not medical faculty of the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences and shall be
deemed to have ceased to be a member of the Medical Council of India representing Dr. NTR University of Health
Sciences with immediate effect.
