vegetative and reproductive structures followed whileA. megapetiolatum has a long petiole, upto
terminologypresentedinMadison(1977),Radford 81 cm in length, oblong to oblong-elliptical leaf
etai (1974),Croat&Bunting(1979).Mayo(1991) blade, with 14-18 secondary veins on both sides
andMayoetai (1997). and 4-9 flowers on the primary spiral and 4-5 on
the secondary spiral ofthe spadix.

Terrestrial. Erect stem; short internodes, Anthurium polynervium Temponi& Nadruz
totally covered by the sylleptic prophylls and sp. nov. Anthurio augustino K. Koch & Lauche
mesophylls;brownish,persistem, entireprophylls affinis, sedfoliorum lamina lanceolata, oblonga
and mesophylls. Leaf with slightly reddish, usque elliptica (nec ovato-lanceolata), nervis
cylindricaltoslightlyadaxiallyfurrowedpetiole, 18- basalibus 1-2 (nec 3), nenis secundariis 17-26
30.9 x 0.15-0.3 cm; geniculum 0.4-2.1 cm long, (nec 24-30) differt.
