Acknowledgements
The idea for this book came as I was listening to a presentation by
African Broadcast Network at Rhodes University, in South Africa. I
realized that cross-border TV channels were expanding everywhere
and that it would be a worthwhile endeavour to compare their de-
velopment in different world regions. I would like to thank Kevin
