Preface
The International Conference on Traffic and Transportation Studies (ICTTS) has
entered its seventh meeting since its origination in 1998. ICTTS 2010 was hosted by
Beijing Jiaotong University (BJU) and Transportation Systems Engineering
Committee of Systems Engineering Society of China (SESC). We are also grateful for
the sponsorships by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Institute of
Transportation Engineers (ITE), Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE), State Key
Lab of Rail Traffic Control and Safety (SKLRTCS), China, Beijing Transportation
Research Center (BTRC), China, Hong Kong Society for Transportation Studies
(HKSTS), and Institution of Highways & Transportation (IHT), UK. We would also
like to express special thanks to the National Natural Science Foundation of China
(NSFC) for their financial support.
All the papers in the proceedings were peer reviewed. There were 300 initial
manuscript submissions. After careful peer reviews, a total of 141 papers were
accepted for presentation and publication in the proceedings, among which 50 papers
were by overseas authors representing 14 different countries and regions, and the
remaining 91 papers were by authors from Mainland China. As the editors of the
proceedings, we would like to thank many individuals who contributed to the paper
reviewing process, especially Prof. Ning Wu, Dr. Pengjun Zheng, Dr. Anthony TH
