Dave Jones and I have known each other, and been great friends, for over thirty years. We are of the
same generation! In our lifetime in the dairy cattle business we have seen enormous changes in this
great agricultural industry in which we make our living and although we work in different spheres we
still, nevertheless, have a passion for the pedigree Holstein cow.

Everyone knows the dairy industry at the moment is in absolute turmoil but we have to believe it will
come right again. How long that will take, whether it will be six months, twelve months or two years,
who knows? It is also true that when there is a demise in dairy profitability that puts extra pressure
on the pedigree business but Dave and I passionately believe that it is important for everyone
involved that we should all do our best to keep the benefits of being pedigree at the forefront of

PEDIGREE.

So why are Sheikha Noora Alkhalifa and Dave and Claire Jones holding this sale, which in the eyes of
many, could be deemed a risky decision? They appreciate more than anyone, that their cattle are not
going to realise anywhere near the figures they may have achieved even twelve months ago, but the
answer is quite simple, they have far too many cattle about them and with some 70 embryo calvings
to happen before the end of the year, something has got to give. So they made a decision, a sale it
would be from their renowned SAHARA and WILTOR Herds, but if it is going to have a chance of being
successful only the best will be included.

AND WHAT A QUITE EXTRAORDINARY OFFERING THEY ARE MAKING!! The cattle are of an incredibly
high standard in all age groups and without exception, every single one is really good. There are 42
head of which 10 are in-milk, 15 heifers in-calf or recently served, and 17 open heifers and calves.

It would be quite easy to make comment about every individual in the sale, but the pedigrees and
pictures in the catalogue give just as much detail but for me here are some of the highlights in a
catalogue full of stars.

(cid:120) ORTONGRANE SNOWMAN ALYSIA (VG89)(EX-MS) (Lot 101) is an amazing young show cow
fresh with her second in January who has been shortlisted for the UK team for the European
Show in Colmar, France. She is also ALL-BRITAIN Junior Heifer in Milk 2014 and she has two
94 point dams. How often does anyone have the opportunity to buy an All Britain milker
and still with a fantastic future in front of her? And her stunning Doorman calf sells.

(cid:120) There are FIVE VERY GOOD (cid:884) 87 TWO YEAR OLDS SELLING all in fine form and all with
incredible deep pedigrees from wonderful cow families and including two, Oak Fleur and
Cruise Rosa, with GPLI figures around £500!!

(cid:120) There are an incredible number with very high GPLI figures including TWENTY ONE (half
the sale) that have figures in excess £400 ranging up to £541 with five of these above £500.
Never before have so many animals with these numbers been offered in one sale before in
the UK and

(Lot 129) (cid:884) a beautiful daughter of View-Home Powerball P and she has a GPLI of £482 and
has 10 generations of VG/EX dams from the Rae/Roxy line.

(cid:120) And then there are the potential SHOW CALVES (cid:884) several of them - and in particular watch
out for the Bradnick out of Sahara Atwood Ambrosia (Ex93-4yr) who was Interbreed
Champion at the Royal Welsh and Reserve All Britain Junior Cow last year. This is a very
special calf.

The cow families featured are well known and highly respected throughout the world (cid:884) ALYSIA,
AMBROSIA, BARBIE, DREAMDAY, FLEUR (RALMA FAITH), FLO, ISA (DELLIA) JASMINE (JESSICA),

As you can imagine only the best and most cutting edge sires are used in the herds and in this

MARDI GRAS, POWERBALL, SILVER, SHOTGLASS, SUPERSHOT and SUPERSIRE just to name a few.

So I hope that in these couple of pages you get a flavour of just how good these Sahara and Wiltor
cattle are and appreciate the chance presented to all breeders in these turbulent times has never
been more opportune. Also just make a note that Sahara and Wiltor have sold over 20 bulls into AI in
recent years as well as having 4 All Britain awards for in the last two years and therefore the herds
are a proven source for cutting edge genetics and super individuals. Sheikha Alkhalifa and Dave and
Claire have made the decision to sell and every animal will sell WITHOUT RESERVE!

SPECIAL NOTES

VACCINATIONS: The herd is regularly tested via bulk milk sampling and has tested clear of IBR, BVD
or Leptospirosis and is therefore NOT Vaccinated for any of these diseases. The herd is monitored via
CIS individual milk sampling for Johnes Disease and there has never been a clinical case in the herd.

TB: The herd is on a 12 month testing cycle and passed its annual herd test on 21st March 2016. Lots
101 and 104 were pre-movement tested on 4th March 2016. There has never been a case of TB at
Church Farm.

EXPORT:all animals in the sale are available for export.

World Wide Sires are kindly donating a £150 semen voucher to the buyer of the highest priced
animal in the sale and a £100 voucher to the buyer of the second priced animal.
