Kelltom Mcintire es un seudónimo de José León Domínguez La abultada nómina de autores que colaboraron en las colecciones de ciencia ficción de la editorial Bruguera, unos treinta en total, tiene en Kelltom McIntire o, si se prefiere, José León Domínguez, uno de sus principales colaboradores, con un total de 61 novelas (55 en La Conquista del Espacio y 6 en Héroes del Espacio). José León Domínguez es un alcalaíno oriundo de tierras extremeñas, donde nació, en la localidad pacense de Higuera la Real, el 31 de julio de 1937. Cursó el bachillerato, comenzó a estudiar magisterio y finalmente, como muchos de sus paisanos, recaló en Alcalá de Henares allá por 1969, con poco más de treinta años de edad. Aunque inicialmente trabajó en una fábrica, una de las muchas existentes en el viejo solar complutense, pronto empezó a publicar novelas en las diversas colecciones populares que florecían entonces en España, principalmente las de las editoriales Toray y Bruguera. Su primera novela aceptada por Toray se titulaba ULTIMÁTUM A UN PISTOLERO, era obviamente del oeste y le pagaron por ella 4.000 pesetas, una cantidad nada despreciable en 1969 ya que podía equivaler, casi, a un salario mensual medio. Su debut en Bruguera tuvo lugar con LA PISTA DE LOS 100.000, también del oeste, y a partir de entonces ya no paró...
