‘Canadian soprano LORNA MACDONALD enjoys 2
‘cater of distinction a an active performer, voice teacher,
Profesor of Voice and the Lois Marshall Chair in Voice
Studies at the Univesity of Toronto. From 1994-2007

she served as Head ofVoice Seuies,and she isa recipient
fof Ontario’ prestigious OCUFA Avard for "teaching
excellence and ovtsanding contributions ro university
teaching”. MacDonald headsup a graduate program in
‘voice pedagogy in which she combines the rich works
‘of science, education snd arto prepare a new generation
fof young singers and voice teachers. Lorna teaches
lundergraduate and graduate voice majors atthe University
fof Toronto, and she hata private studio of profesional
Singers who are performing throughout Europe and
[North America, on Broadway. film, Grammy and Juno
‘nominated artiste in popular music art song and opera.A
{graduate of Dalhousie Univerty and the New England
‘Conservatory of Music, with additonal sts inthe US
and Europe, she maintains strong es with her birthplace in
Port Morien, Nova Scotia

Pianise MIDORI KOGA joined the piano and piano
pedagogy faculty at theUniversiy of Toronto as Associate
Profesor in fal of 2004, Previously she held the postion
‘of Asociate Profesor of Piano, nd Director of Piano
Pedagogy at Michigan Sete University She holds

4 Bachelor’ Degree from the University of British
Columbia, Master of Music and Doctor of Musical

[Arts degrees from the University of Michigan and a
performance diploma from dhe Mozarteum Hochschule
fr Musk in Salzburg, Aus

Koga has been fetured as soloist, chamber musician
and accompanist in music festivals throughout the world,
inchding the Banff Cente for Fine Ars, Mozateum
Sommerakademie Fesspel in Salaburg. the Al Fresno New
Music Festival, the Jobannesen International Festival ofthe
‘Arts in British Columbia, che World Sexophone Congress
in Vleneia, Spain, the International Computer Music
Fess.

‘Active ato as a lecturer, she has presented atthe World
Pedagogy Conference, the Music Teachers’ National
‘Associaton National Conference, and the National
‘Conference on Piano Pedagogy She has been poblished
-nomerous times in the American Music Teacher; the
tile Music Making and Wells: Proje The Posie Ets
{of MusiMaking onthe Heli and Wel-eing of Ses was
recipient ofthe 2001 National Arce ofthe Year Award
presented by the MTNA.

(Canadian volint ERIKA RAUM quickly rose through
the ranks by taking fit place athe 1992 Joseph Sziget
Intemational Violin Competition in Budapest. She

has appeared as guest ats with orchestras such as the
Budapest Radio Orchestra, the Saombathely Symphony
COrchesta the Austro-Hungarian Orchestra, andthe Franz
set Chamber Orchestra

'A distinguished musician internationally 2s both
recitals and chamber musician, some of her recent
highlights include the Festival Pablo Casals in Prades
France, Beethoven Festival in Warsaw and the BargeMusic
Fesial in New York

‘Asa recording artist, Erika joined pianist Anton
Ker in releasing the world premiere recording of Cal
CC2erny’ piano and violin works, recorded on Musica|
‘Viva of CBC Records Along with this recording, Ms.
Ram’ performances are often ear on an array of CBC
networks across Canada,

"Ms. Raum i curzentdy on the ficuty of the Faculty of
‘Masi, University of Toronto and the Glenn Gould School
at the Rol Conservatory of Music. During the summer
‘season, she serves on the faculty ofthe Banff Centre forthe
Ars.

[RUSSELL HARTENBERGER has been 2 member of
[Nonus and ofthe Steve Reich ensemble since 1971, With
‘these cwo groups, Profesor Hartenberger has performed
throughout the world including appearances with the
[New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Cleveland
Orchestra, Landon Symphony, Israel Philharmonic,
Cologne Radio Orchestra, Toronto Symphony, BBC
Crchesta, New Japan Philharmonic, nd with other
leading orchestrs in Europe, Asa and North America,
Prof Hartenberger has appeared on over 70 recordings
for vatious labels inclading Nonesuch, ECM, DGG,
Sony, Philip and Nexus. He has ao performed with the
(Oklahoma City Symphony, the New Haven Symphony,
the US. Air Force Band, the Paul Winter Consort, the
(Canadian Opera Company, and tthe Malboro Music
Festival under Pablo Casals
