Abstract: To support his contention, he describes the fate of Chris Brand, who was fired from the University of
Edinburgh for emphasizing the genetic basis of racial differences; the attacks on Bruce Lahn at the University of
Chicago; and even on the discoverer of the DNA molecule, Nobel prize winner James Watson, who was forced
to resign from his position at the research institute at Cold Springs Harbour for remarking publically to the effect
that some races were less intelligent than others. Roth also notes that most philanthropic foundations that
sponsor publications and conferences on the subject of race do not invite scholars who might make the case for
genetic differences between races or groups, while they give major grants for studies of "racism" and to support
activist proimmigration groups such La Raza, which advocates the return of the southern U.S. states to Mexico.
