Elinizdeki calismada ana hedef Paulikanizm’in kokenleri, dogasi ve tarihcesi uzerine mevcut kaynaklarin tumunun yeniden degerlendirilmesi olarak belirlenmistir. Dogasi geregi boylesi bir calismanin kesinlik icermeyen ve parcalar halinde bir yapida olmasi ve kuskusuz eldeki kanitlarin da yetersizligi degerlendirildiginde mevcut problemlerin bazilari icin kesin kenarlari olan bir cozum uretilememis olmasi normal karsilanmalidir. Bu calismadaki temel amac Paulikanizm’in Ermenistan, Firat havzasi ve (Constantinople) Istanbul’daki erken donem gelisimi hakkindaki mevcut bilgiyi bir araya getirmektir.
