Th e Lennart Philipson Collection of Swedish Coins
Lennart Philipson was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in Affi nity for his homeland and memories of his grandfather,
1933. His father was a civil engineer, employed by the State Th or Bäckström (an avid coin collector), led Mr. Philipson
electrical board. Th e family relocated to Motala when his to start a Swedish type collection. His fi rst Swedish
father was transferred and Lennart spent his youth studying acquisition was a Gustav Wasa one riksdaler of 1543. While

open his own store buying and selling coins.
