Writing is skill in which we express ideas, feelings, and thought in written form.
Most of students at the eighth grade of SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung are 62 % got
under the criteria. The objective of this research is to know whether there is
significant influence of using five sense technique towards students’ descriptive text
writing abilityat the Eighth grade of SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung.
The research methodology used was experimental method. The researcher dealt with
two classes, they were an experimental class and a control class. In the experimental
class, the researcher used five sense technique, whereas in the control class the
researcher used free writing. Each class received the same pre-test and post-test. The
population of this research was the eighth grade of SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung.
The samples of this research were 2 classes consisting of 60 students. In collecting
the data, the researcher used writing test to collect the data.
After doing testing the hypothesis, the results was that there is a influence of using
five sense technique towards students’ descriptive text writing ability At the eighth
grade of SMP PGRI 6 Bandar lampung In the academic year of 2017/2018.From the
data analysis computed by using SPSS, it was obtained that Sig = 0.012 and = 0.05.
It means Ha is accepted because Sig < α = 0.05. Therefore, there is significant
influence of using five sense technique toward students’ descriptive tex(cid:2009)t writing
ability at the eighth grade of SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of
2017/2018.

CURRICULLUM VITAE
The name of the writer is Refri Nisa. She was born on March 28th, 1995 in Brabasan,
Mesuji. She is the second child of four childreen of Mr. Son Hadi and Mrs.
Juhairiyah. She has one older sister, her name is mei riskiyah. She has two younger
sisters, their name is Lulu Rumzanah and Ulva Septikiah.
The writer began her study in Elementary School at SD N 1 Brabasan in 2003 and
finished in 2008. After that she continued her school at Junior High School at SMP N
1 Tanjung Raya and Finished in 2010. After that she continued her cshool at Senior
High School at SMA N 1 Tanjung Raya and finished in 2013. In the next years, she
continued her study to UIN Raden Intan Lampung as S1 degree students of Tarbiyah
and Teaching Training Faculty Study Program in English Education.
