THEODORE KISIEL is Professor of Philosophy at Northern
Illinois University in DeKalb. Illinois. He is the trans
lator of Martin Heidegger's History of the Concept of Time
(Indiana University Press). as well as Werner Marx's
Heidegger and the Tradition (Northwestern University Press).
He co-edited Phenomenology and the Natural Sciences. with
Joseph J. Kockelmans (Northwestern University Press). His
