Anikó Horváth is currently a PhD student at the Department of Soci-
ology and Social Anthropology at the Central European University (CEU)
in Budapest, Hungary. She is writing on poverty and stratification in post-
socialisturbansettings.HorváthholdsaBachelorofArtsinJournalismanda
Master’sdegreeinSocialCommunicationfromBabes-BolyaiUniversity,Cluj,
Romania,aswellasaMaster’sdegreeinNationalismStudiesfromtheCEU.
James Kaye is a historian, having recently completed a post-doctoral fel-
lowship and work as a project coordinator at the Robert Schuman Centre
for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute as well as the
position of key researcher at the Ludwig Boltzman Institute for European
History and Public Spheres in Vienna. Kaye is currently project director of
the virtual library Readme.cc in Italy as well as the director of readme.cc’s
academic board. His research and expertise are in historiography, photog-
raphyandcomparativediscoursesofmodernity,communityandconceptual
history.
Nadežda Kinsky-Müngersdorff is a PhD student at the Institute for Con-
temporary History at the University of Vienna. She is focusing on visual
contemporaryandculturalhistory, whilewritingonidentityconstructions
in depictions of Vienna in Austrian film since 1945. She gained a Master’s
degreeinNationalismStudiesattheCentralEuropeanUniversity,Budapest
as well as a Master’s degree in History and Studies of Nationalities at the
University Professors Program, Boston University. She works as a freelance
translatorandresearcher.
Maria Kontochristou, teaches cultural policy and management at the
HellenicOpenUniveristyandhasworkedastheHeadofInternationalCollab-
orationsattheHellenicCultureOrganisation,MinistryofCulture.Sheholds
aPhDinEuropeanandMediaStudiesfromtheLondonSchoolofEconomics
andPoliticalScienceandanMAinEuropeanCulturalPolicyfromWarwick
University.Shehasstudiedpolitics,culturalmanagementandmasscommu-
nicationinGreece,GermanyandEngland.Herresearchinterestsincludethe
relationship between media and identity construction (especially the con-
structionofaEuropeanidentity),theoryofmediation,EUculturalpolicy,and
strategic management of cultural organizations. Her recent publications
include:IdentityandMediainContemporaryGreece(ed.)(Athens:Papazisis).
András Kovács is Doctor of Sciences at the Hungarian Academy of Sci-
ences and Professor at the Central European University, Budapest. He is
theAcademicDirectoroftheNationalismStudiesProgramme/JewishStudies
