The gilt bronze mounts are stamped with the "crowned
'C' poincon". This mark was used only during the years
1745 to 1749, hence we can date this secretaire with

WELSH FOLK MUSEUM
The Welsh Folk Museum lies in the village of St. Fagans, 4lfz miles west of Cardiff.
Besides St. Fagans Castle and its gardens and fish-ponds, the open air museum
includes twelve buildings from various parts of Wales which have been re-erected on
its magnificent hundred-acre site. New museum buildings include galleries of
agricultural and material culture generally, and a restaurant.

A massively built Chinese potiche with sides shaped in twelve lobes and
high spreading foot; decorated in underglaze copper red, the twelve main
panels each with a different flowering plant, the entire scheme representing
the Four Seasons repeated three times.
