“Joe Bastardi’s love for the weather and climate drove him to write The
Climate Chronicles, an exposé of the true climate change agenda. By drawing
on many of the over 150 blogs he has written on the matter, he shows how
weather and climate are being weaponized, politicized and in reality distorted
by academia, media and even religious leaders to advance a cause that is
counter to our nation’s best interests. A must-read for anyone who loves
weather and climate, cherishes the freedoms that are being attacked in our
country today, and is curious enough to question what they are being told.”

“In all of the sound and fury surrounding the climate change debate, two
things have been glaringly absent: rationality and truth. Renowned
meteorologist Joe Bastardi restores both to the climate discussion as he
methodically lays out actual science, places it in context and strips out the
globalist and statist agendas that have poisoned the conversation from the
start. This is a must-read for anyone interested in arming themselves with the
truth.”

“I was trained as an analytical chemist and medical doctor and I have been
dismayed by how the globalists and their ‘puppets’ in the ‘Weather
Ambulance Chaser’ contingent have denigrated the scientific method in their
pursuit of societal control and the almighty dollar. Joe Bastardi is a dedicated
scientist who utilizes the scientific facts and irrefutable data to set the record
straight on why the climate has changed, is changing and will continue to
change. He has created a ‘Weapon of Mass Instruction’ with The Climate
Chronicles.”

“Joe Bastardi hits home with this exposure of the political climate change
myth. Exposing the Mikhail Gorbachev/George H. W. Bush agenda of
‘Green replaces Red’ at the end of the Cold War shoots a bullet dead center
in the so-called global warming lie.”

I can mention countless people in my life to whom I am indebted — debts
that no honest man can repay. But in the end, it comes down to God, family
and country.
My heavenly Father for the blessings He has poured out on me.
My family for providing a foundation for me to reach for tomorrow.
And my country for engendering liberty. Despite some faults, there is no
comparison to the freedom and opportunity we enjoy because of those who
fought to instill and protect them.
I believe we are in a great conflict. If open-minded people look with gratitude
at what it took to get us here, they will realize that the trials we face are
because we have been so blessed. If not for the advances made possible by
fossil fuels, the people trying to destroy this important source of energy
would not even have the means to do so. The same goes with the foundation
upon which our nation was built. You must have gratitude above all.
If we have gratitude, we will understand that man advances through the
challenges that occur from conflict via resolution and adaptation. It may not
be what you believe, but it’s what I believe. Nature does too. The hot summer
day with the thunderstorm is cooled by that thunderstorm, and hours later the
sky has cleared.
It’s man who creates the distance. It’s God who builds the bridge!
I am thankful for that providential bridge builder and for all that was created
around me. In a way, I’m also thankful for my adversaries, because they
reveal conflicts that need resolving. If we can accomplish that, then we are all
better off.
I also wish to thank those who have helped with the production of this book:
Jordan Payne, my editor who has the torturous job of polishing what I write

in the opinion blogs; Michael Barak, who has suffered through my endeavors
and who has advised in how to “brew the perfect cup of coffee” when
opining on issues in the minefield of climate change; and Craig Roberts, an
author in his own right who did final formatting and proofreading. All were
instrumental in seeing this project through.
But most of all, thanks to my wife, Jess, for her support.

Introduction
To the Weather, With Love
This is a love story. I have loved the weather since my first memory. Next to
my mom and dad, the weather and climate have been what I have loved the
longest. It has given me a chance to make a living doing what I love. I see the
majesty of Creation in action every day and, as such, it has drawn me closer
to God.
This book is not meant to be an attack on others but rather a defense of what I
dearly love. All these are opinion blogs, already published and organized in a
way to tell this story. I sense that weather and climate are being used as a
means to an end, and in a way, this ruins them. Would you not defend what
you love? Would you not speak the truth as you see it? I am nothing more
and nothing less than someone who is speaking up for what I cherish. This is
what The Climate Chronicles: Inconvenient Revelations You Won’t Hear
From Al Gore—And Others is about — opinion blogs I have written to
defend what I hold near and dear.
Furthermore, my purpose is to protect the longstanding forecast techniques
that can help supplement the great advances in science. The argument comes
down to a group of people who are trying to get the public to believe that
every major weather event is a sign of climate change versus people like me
who use the past and the techniques of today to forecast these events —
almost always before agenda-driven Climate Ambulance Chasers even see
them! (I use that term with some tongue in cheek, but it does remind me of
someone who will use something adverse to profit under the guise of
“helping.”) It boils down to a defense of the absolute truth of nature’s ways
versus a relativist truth that depends solely on a missive and the desire for
control.
When forecasting, I always try to explain why something will happen. I have
found that in the climate debate, I am dealing with climate alarmists who do
not make a forecast for a specific event. But if an event occurs that satisfies
their longer-term abstract missive, they turn around and then claim it’s
because of what they are fussing about. In other words, any answer they can
3
use for their ideas is correct. There is no wrong answer, and there is no time
limit. For example: If climate alarmists say it will warm and it fails to, it
simply means it’s coming later. It’s a deceptive process. Moreover, the very
methods that are being used are projected dangerously on their opponents.
Slanderous comments — like accusing people with whom they disagree of
being “deniers” of basic science — are right out of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for
Radicals. Basic foundational science — such as using the past as a predictor
of the future, or even questioning the events of today — is dismissed as
useless by people pushing this.
Bill Nye, a prominent believer in anthropogenic global warming, revealed a
lot when he alluded to the fact that the people who are resisting the so-called
green movement are mostly older people and will soon die-off. He is correct,
and in fact I wrote about it in “Bill Nye: The Real Message We Should Pay
Attention To,” published on Aug. 4, 2017:
There was a minor uproar over a recent Bill Nye comment that is
summed up in a Daily Caller article titled: “Bill Nye: Climate
Change Scientists Need To Wait For Older People To Die.”
Let’s look at this for what it really reveals.
First of all, Bill is stating a fact. Many in the climate change
“resistance” are Bill’s age and older. But this generation was
brought up differently than the current group of people, many
rising through academia. We were taught to question
authority. We were also encouraged to reject groupthink.
Perhaps it had to do with Dwight Eisenhower’s farewell speech
in which he warned against the military-industrial complex —
which, when I was growing up in the ‘60s and ‘70s, was being
used as a rallying cry against our involvement in Vietnam. But
those of us who are in the generation of which Bill speaks also
took note of the other part of Eisenhower’s speech.
Let me borrow from Wikipedia, where its note on the legacy of
the speech attests to my assertion about its importance in relation
to Vietnam:
