Head:
Starting at top of head with yarn A and an E Hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, and
sc 6 into the ring. Pull closed.
Rnd 1: Work 2 sc into each st (12 sts)
Rnd 2: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next st), rep from * to end of rnd (18 sts)
Rnd 3: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next 8 sts), rep from * to end of rnd (20 sts)
Rnds 4-5: Sc into each st.
Rnd 6: *(Sc2tog, sc in next 8 sts), rep from * to end of rnd (18 sts)
Rnd 7: Sc into next 9 sts, make bobble in next st, sc in next 8 sts (18 sts)
Rnd 8: *(Sc2tog, sc into next 4 sts), rep from * to end of rnd (15 sts)
Rnd 9: Sc2tog three times, sc into next 3 sts, sc2tog 3 times (9 sts)
**At this point you should insert a stitch marker and stuff the head firmly. Insert safety
eyes positioned as shown, one row above bobble, 4 sts apart. Continue adding
stuffing as you stitch the last couple of rounds if needed.
Rnd 10: *(Sc2tog, sc in next st), rep from * to end of rnd (6 sts)
Fasten off and use yarn tail and a yarn needle to stitch the last round closed. Clip yarn
tail, hiding within head.
Body:
Starting at bottom of Body with yarn B and an E Hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1,
and sc 6 into the ring. Pull closed.
Rnd 1: Work 2 sc into each st (12 sts)
Rnd 2: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next st), rep from * to end of rnd (18 sts)
Rnds 3-4: Sc into each st.
Rnd 5: *(Sc2tog, sc into next 4 sts), rep from * to end of rnd (15 sts)

Change to yarn A at end of Rnd 11.
*Insert a stitch marker and stuff body firmly, continuing to stuff as you crochet last
rounds.
Rnd 12: Sc2tog around (6 sts)
Rnds 13-14: Sc into each st.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Set aside.
Insert dowel rod into the Head at the base, pushing in between stitches until secure.

Insert other end of the rod into the neck of the Body, working it into the stuffing inside
to hold securely. Use the tail from the neck to sew Head to Body. Weave in ends.
Collar:
With yarn B, ch 15. Hdc into 3rd ch from hook, sc into next 10 chs, hdc into last ch.
Fasten off and use yarn tail to sew Collar to Body around top of shirt.
Legs:
Starting at waist and with yarn D and an E hook, ch 18. Sl st to first chain to form a
ring.
Rnd 1: Sc into each st (18 sts)
Rnd 2: *(Sc2tog, sc into next 7 sts), rep from * to end of rnd (16 sts)
First Leg:
Rnd 3: Sc into next 8 sts, skip next 8 sts (8 sts)
* This will split the piece in two, creating the first leg. Continue crocheting into only
these 8 stitches of the leg.
Rnd 4: Sc into first st of Rnd 3 and next 7 sts (8 sts)
Rnd 5: 2 Sc into next st, sc into next 7 sts (9 sts)
Rnds 6-8: Sc into each st.
Rnd 9: Sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog twice, sc into next 3 sts (7 sts)
Rnd 10: Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts (8 sts)
Rnds 11-14: Sc into each st.
Rnd 15: Sc into next 7 sts, hdc 3 into next st (10 sts)

Fasten off and weave in ends.
Second Leg:
Rnd 3: Join yarn D at 9th st of Rnd 2 with a sc, and sc into next 7 sts around opening
(8 sts)
Repeat Rnds 4-17.
*Make sure Shoe points in the correct direction when working Rnd 16. If necessary,
adjust position of hdc 3 within row.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Sew Legs to Body and weave in ends.
Shoe Sole (Make 2):
With yarn E and an E hook, ch 6.
Rnd 1: Sc into 2nd ch from hook and next 3 chs, (2 hdc, dc, 2 hdc) into next st, sc into
next 4 sts, 2 sc in last st, sl st into next st.

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Thread tail onto a yarn needle and sew Soles to Legs, stuffing legs firmly as you go.
Weave in ends.
Skirt:
With yarn F, ch 17, with a long beginning tail for sewing later. Join in a ring with a sl st.
Rnd 1: Sc into each ch around (17 sts, including sl st)
Rnd 2: 2 Hdc into next st, hdc into each st around (18 sts)
Rnds 3-5: Hdc into each st around.
Rnd 6: 2 Hdc into next st, hdc into each st around (19 sts)
Rnd 7: 2 Hdc into next st, hdc into each st around (20 sts)
Fasten off and weave in ends. Use beginning tail to sew Skirt to waist.
Cardigan:
Row 1: With yarn G and E hook, ch 22.
Hdc into 3rd ch from hook and each ch

Row 2: Change to yarn H, ch 2, turn, hdc
into each st (20 sts)
Row 3: Change to yarn G, ch 2, turn, hdc

Edging:
Join yarn G at bottom inside corner of front of Cardigan with a sc. Sc along edge up to
top edge, 3 sc in corner, sc along top edge, 3 sc in corner, sc down edge. Fasten off
and weave in ends.

Wrap Cardigan around Body and sew front together as shown. Weave in ends.
Arms (Make 2):
Rnd 1: Beg at hand end of Arm with A and E hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, and
sc 3 into ring. Gently, but firmly, pull tail to close ring.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around (6 sts)
Rnds 3-4: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 5: Make bobble in next st, sc into next 5 sts (6 sts)
Change to yarn G at end of Rnd 5. Work a round of 6 sl st into Rnd 5.
Rnd 6: Sc into each st.
Begin alternating yarns G and H at each Rnd for the rest of the Arm.
Rnds 7-15: Sc into each st.
Fasten off and leave a long tail. Arms don't need to be stuffed. Set aside.
Cut a length of wire approximately 8" long.
Bend one end into a loop small enough to
run into the Arm. Insert the loop into the top
of the Arm and thread all the way down into
the hand end. Insert the other end of the
wire into the Cardigan/Body at the shoulder
area as shown, and out through the other
side. Bend the tip of the wire into a loop and
insert into the top of the second Arm. Stitch
Arms to Cardigan/Body with matching yarn
and a yarn needle, fully encompassing the
wire. Weave in ends.
Hair:
The Hair is a crocheted hair cap that fits
over the head. Long strands of dark brown
sport weight yarn are hooked into it.
Rnd 1: With yarn I and E hook, make an
adjustable ring, ch 1, sc 6 into ring. Pull tail
to close ring (6 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 Sc into each st (12 sts)
Rnd 3: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next st),
rep from * to end of rnd (18 sts)
Rnd 4: *(2 Sc into next st, sc into next 8
sts), rep from * to end of rnd (20 sts)
Rnds 5-6: Sc into each st.
Fasten off and leave a long tail.

Fit Hair over Head, positioning it tilted back on the Head. Stitch into place with a yarn
needle and the yarn tail.
Cut 25-30 5" lengths of dark brown sport weight yarn. Fold each strand in half. Insert
hook into stitch on Hair cap, pull up a folded loop of yarn, and pull ends through loop
with hook. Repeat around front of hairline and down side part, and along back of head
at the crown. Refer to photo.
Gather hair in front on one side and use a yarn needle with black yarn to make a small
stitch across gathered hair for a barette. Weave in ends.
Ear (Make 2):
With yarn A and an E hook, make an adjustable ring, ch 1, sc 3 into ring. Pull tail to
close ring. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Thread the yarn tail into a yarn needle and position ear onto head, overlapping hair
cap and the head, lining up with the eyes on the side of the head. Refer to photo for
placement. Weave in ends.
Glasses:
Using the Head as reference, bend wire into the glasses shape, following photo for
shaping. Poke ends of wire into sides of head above ear. Use one strand of brown
thread and embroidery needle to secure Glasses to front of face.
Finishing:
Sew three tiny buttons to the front of the Cardigan with matching thread.
Referring to photo, use one strand of black embroidery floss to stitch three tiny straight
stitches at sides of eyes for eyelashes.
Cut a small smile shape from white felt and glue into place with craft glue. Thread a
yarn needle with light pink yarn and make a two loose straight stitches above and
below the teeth. Use a tiny amount of craft glue if necessary to secure. Refer to photo.
With brown embroidery floss, straight stitch two tiny eyebrows.
Using a cotton swab or your pinky finger, apply a bit of pink blush to cheeks, rubbing in
tiny circles.

Vest:
Rnd 1: Starting at bottom of vest with yarn F and E hook, ch 20. Sl st to first ch to form
a ring. Sc into next 19 st (20 sts)
Rnds 2-3: Sc into each st around.
Change to yarn G at end of Rnd 3. The rest of the Vest pattern will be in alternating
rows of F and G, creating a houndstooth/stripe pattern. Change color at the end of
each row by completing the final stitch in the new color.
