the history, antiquities and heraldry, of the counties
of Angus and Mearns in particular, and he now lays
before the public the result of what has been to him
a most agreeable labour merely hoping to be re-
warded with such a share of public patronage, as
may in some measure re-imburse him for the
expense he has been at in the course of years in
