ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Rivka A. Eisikovits, PhD, is Associate Professor of Anthropolo-
gy and Education at the University of Haifa, Israel, where she is also
Chair of The Educational Foundations Program and Head of the Lab-
oratory for the Study of Cultural and Cross-Cultural Learning. Dr. Ei-
sikovits is co-editor of Qualitative Research and Evaluation in Group
Care and co-author of Culture Acquisition: A Holistic Approach to
Human Learning (1989). Her publications on the anthropology of
group care settings, professional learning, the cross-cultural adapta-
tion of immigrant students, and the philosophy of research methodol-
ogy have appeared in U.S., European, and Israeli journals.
