Introduction
This matrix serves to facilitate comparisons of the 2010 ADA Standard for Accessible Design, published in the Federal Register on September 15, 2010, and effec-
tive March 15, 2012, with the 2012 International Building Code, which references the standard ICC/ANSI A117.1 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facili-
ties-2009. Where applicable, the 2012 International Existing Building Code (IEBC) is also referenced
BDBlack Codes, Inc. developed a similar matrix under contract with the U.S. Access Board. Brian Black based the initial project on the 2004 ADA/ABA Accessibility
Guidelines, the 2003 International Building Code with 2004 Amendments and the ICC/ANSI A117.1-2003.
