Argus Delivers Clear Photos In
Air Force Demonstration
Argus, a U.S. Air Force Firebee modified byTRAto carry
multiple reconnaissance sensors as well as image data links,
performed remarkablyduringtheAir Force's Green Flagelec-
tronicwarfarecombatexercisesatNellisAirForceBase,Nevada
lastmonth.
TwoArgusvehicleswereflownautonomouslyaccordingto
pre-programmedwaypointandmissioninstructionsafterlaunch
fromtheDC-130. TheUAVswererecoveredbyparachuteatthe
endofeachmissionand"turnedaround"fortheirnextflightsby
AirForceandTRApersonnel.

thedepartmentrespondsto25-35callseachdayforassistance
witheitherhardwareorsoftwarequestionsfromemployees.
"Withmorethan460PCsystemsontheplant,"saidSmith,
"weneverknowwherethenextcallmightsendus. Ourgoalis
toprovidesolutionsjustasquicklyaswecan,sinceweknow
howmuchtheemployeesrelyontheircomputers."
