Учебное пособие «Английский язык: технологии и инновации» предна-
значено для студентов 1 курса, обучающихся по направлениям подготовки
13.03.01 – «Теплоэнергетика и теплотехника», 13.03.02 – «Электроэнергетика
и электротехника», 15.03.04 – «Автоматизация технологических процессов и
производств».
Учебное пособие состоит из 2 тематических модулей: «Технологии и ин-
новации» и «Научные достижения», а также раздела «Supplementary Reading».
Тематика модулей соответствует содержанию рабочей программы дисципли-
ны «Иностранный язык». Содержание текстовых материалов модулей ориен-
тировано на интеллектуальное развитие личности обучающихся, включающее
умение самостоятельно работать с информацией, понимать, критически
осмысливать, интерпретировать и аргументировать. Структура упражнений
способствует совершенствованию умений студентов в различных видах чте-
ния, письменной и устной коммуникации, овладению студентами необходи-
мым объемом лексического запаса в рамках изучаемых тематических моду-
лей. Изучение каждого модуля завершается выполнением проекта на одну из
предложенных тем.
Учебное пособие может использоваться как в аудиторном режиме работы,
так и в самостоятельной работе обучающихся.

ПРЕДИСЛОВИЕ
Учебное пособие «Английский язык: технологии и инновации»
предназначено для студентов 1 курса, обучающихся по направлениям
подготовки 13.03.01 – «Теплоэнергетика и теплотехника», 13.03.02 –
«Электроэнергетика и электротехника», 15.03.04 – «Автоматизация
технологических процессов и производств».
Цель учебного пособия – формирование у обучающихся способно-
сти к коммуникации в устной и письменной формах на иностранном
языке для решения задач межличностного и межкультурного взаимо-
действия в сфере общепрофессионального общения.
Учебное пособие состоит из 2 тематических модулей «Технологии
и инновации» и «Научные достижения», а также раздела «Supplemen-
tary Reading». Содержание каждого модуля включает профессиональ-
но-ориентированные текстовые материалы, посвященные современ-
ным промышленным технологиям и инновациям, их влиянию на раз-
витие общества, научным достижениям в выбранной отрасли знания.
Текстовые материалы сопровождаются комплексом языковых, речевых
и коммуникативных заданий, нацеленных на активизацию лексических
единиц в ситуативном профессионально-ориентированном контексте,
совершенствование навыков владения различными видами чтения ори-
гинальной литературы общекультурного и общепрофессионального
характера (ознакомительное, поисковое, изучающее) и аудирования с
целью извлечения значимой информации и представления ее в форме
сообщений, докладов, рефератов; развитие коммуникативных умений
и навыков иноязычного профессионального общения в диалогической
и монологической формах; формирование навыков публичного пред-
ставления устных сообщений, докладов профессионально-ориент-
рованного содержания; а также развитие познавательной и творческой

активности обучающихся в процессе работы над профессионально-
ориентированными материалами. В конце каждого тематического мо-
дуля содержится раздел «Stop and Check», в котором представлены ос-
новные термины по темам и упражнения на их активизацию в речевой
деятельности. Содержание раздела «Supplementary Reading» включает
дополнительные текстовые материалы по изученным темам и ориен-
тировано на развитие навыков реферирования на английском языке.
В основу построения учебного пособия положены принципы си-
стемности, однотипности, дидактической, познавательной и коммуни-
кативной ценности, предполагающие комплексную организацию ди-
дактического материала для обучения различным видам речевой дея-
тельности.
Учебное пособие рассчитано на 72 часа (36 аудиторных часов и
36 часов самостоятельной работы). Учебное пособие может использо-
ваться как в аудиторном режиме работы, так и в самостоятельной ра-
боте обучающихся.
