andsocialforestryresearch.FollowingdegreesfromCambridgeandOxford
Universities,herearlycareerinSouthAmericaandAsiainspiredafocuson
interactionbetweenlocalandscientificknowledge,andlinkingresearchtopolicyand
practice.AttheEnvironmentalChangeInstitute,UniversityofOxford,sheestablished
andledtheHumanEcologyresearchgroupforsevenyears.Afterworkinginmore
than20countriesshehasrecentlymovedtofocusonissuesclosertohome,asHeadof
SocialandEconomicResearchintheBritishGovernment’sForestryCommission.
