everyone'sfreeuseornotlicensedatall.
MostGNUsoftware,includingsomelibraries,iscoveredbytheordinaryGNU
GeneralPublicLicense,whichwasdesignedforutilityprograms.Thislicense,the
GNULibraryGeneralPublicLicense,appliestocertaindesignatedlibraries.This
licenseisquitedifferentfromtheordinaryone;besuretoreaditinfull,anddon't
assumethatanythinginitisthesameasintheordinarylicense.
Thereasonwehaveaseparatepubliclicenseforsomelibrariesisthattheyblur
thedistinctionweusuallymakebetweenmodifyingoraddingtoaprogramand

(Forexample,afunctioninalibrarytocomputesquarerootshasapurposethat
isentirelywell-definedindependentoftheapplication.Therefore,Subsection
2drequiresthatanyapplication-suppliedfunctionortableusedbythisfunction
mustbeoptional:iftheapplicationdoesnotsupplyit,thesquarerootfunction
muststillcomputesquareroots.)
Theserequirementsapplytothemodifiedworkasawhole.Ifidentifiablesections
ofthatworkarenotderivedfromtheLibrary,andcanbereasonablyconsidered
independentandseparateworksinthemselves,thenthisLicense,anditsterms,
donotapplytothosesectionswhenyoudistributethemasseparateworks.But
whenyoudistributethesamesectionsaspartofawholewhichisaworkbasedon
