ontheholotype,anditsnewrelativeisdescribedfromTaiwanunderthenameof 0.
tapanetlslssp nov.
SomespecimensofabuprestidbeetlecollectedinTaiwan lookedsimilar to
0. khe11i (0BENBERGER, 1925) fromChina,but did not agreewith it incertain
morphological features. After a careful examination, it was found that these
Taiwanesespecimensbelongedtoanewspecies. Inthispaper, I amgoing
to
redescribe 0. khe11i (0BENBERGER,1925) on thebasisof itsholotypeand in
comparison with it, will describe theTaiwanesespecies under the name 0.
tapanensissp nov.

Holotype. Bodyelongatedovate,greenishwithaeneoustinge;headgreenish

withaeneoustinge;elytraelongate,greenish,withaeneo-cupreoustingeinlateral

spots:threerangedalongsutureandtheremainingonejustoutsidethe2ndspot.
Headnarrowerthanthebaseofpronotum;vertexconvexwithmediangroove
narrowandrunning fromvertextothetopof frons; fronsevenlyconvexthough
slightlydepressedalongmedianline,and forminganinvertedpentagonbetween
eyes; clypeus transverse, 3.0 times as wideas long, feebly depressed between
antennal cavities, with anterior margin triangularly emarginate, clypea1suture
invisible; antennal cavities small and internallysurrounded by arcuate ridges;
surfacecoarselyandshallowlypunctate,thepuncturesseparatedfromoneanother
bybroad reticulation,eachwithashortsemirecumbentsliver-whitishhair;eyes
withinternal marginsfeeblysinuateandgentlyconvergent tovertex.
Antennae lost except 1st and 2nd segments; 1st obconical; 2nd globular,
about2/5timesas longas1st (according to theoriginaldescription, “Antennis

medianlobebroadlyand feeblyproduced,andindistinctlyborderedexcept for
themedianpart;posterioranglesacuteandproduced;posteriormargindeeply
bisinuatewithmedianlobearcuatelyproduced,obviouslyemarginateoneachside
ofmedian line,eachemarginationdistinctlyincisedat thebottom;discconvex,
shallowlyandobliquelyimpressedoneachsidebeforebase,theimpressionbeing
curvedposteriorlyat thelateralpart thoughnot reachinganymargins;surface

Scutellumtransverse, inverselypentagonal,anddepressedonmedian longi-
tudinal line;surfacefinely, transverselyrugose-punctate.

Antennae with 1stsegment obconica1, 2ndglobular, 3rd fusiform and 16
timesaslongas2nd,4thobtusely triangularand14timesas longas2nd, ratio
ofmaximumwidth/length0.62,5thto10thserrateand11thelliptical;lengthand
widthofeachsegmentasshown inTable t, inwhich the length isof thestem
part of antennae and the width is of the maximum width; sensory pores
concentratedinadistinct roundpitoneachapico-innersurfaceof4th toapical
segments.
