Introduction
Since theJuly 23, 1952 Revolution com
mitted itself to its six principles and the
struggle of people was transferred by the
socialist conversion of the July, 1961 laws,
the stages ofthe struggledictatedestablishing
a popular formation, that is, the Arab
Socialist Union. This would be capable
ofsafeguarding the six principles of the Re
volution and, would give the Revolution im
petus towards its greater goals defined in
the National Charter.

The Arab Socialist L'nion represents the
socialist vanguard which leads the people,
expresses their will, directs national action
and undertakes effective control of the
progress ofsuchaction,withintheframework
of the principles of the National Charter.
The Arab Socialist Union is the meeting
place of the demands and requirements of
the people.
The Arab Socialist Union, as a strong
popular formation, includes the active
powers of the people. The alliance ofsuch
powers is represented in the Arab Socialist
Union.
Objectives :
To realise sound democracy represented
by thepeopleandfor thepeople,so that
the Revolution will be by the people in
