REQUIREMENT
1.1.1. The NATO Codification System (NCS) is the official programme under which national
equipment components and parts of the military supply systems are uniformly named,
described, classified, and assigned a NATO Stock Number. These Stock Numbers and item
descriptions are published in supply catalogues and repair part lists, and are used as key
identifiers within wider logistic information systems.
1.1.2. The NCS is a common supply language which operates effectively in a multilingual
environment. It facilitates interoperability, curbs duplication (both within nations and between
nations) permits inter-changeability, and maximises logistics support in the most economic
manner possible.
1.1.3. As a key milestone to Jordan’s successful integration into the NCS and capability
improvement, a NATO project is currently supporting Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) to launch a
fully compliant NCS capable of data exchange with other NATO Allied Committee 135
(AC/135) member nations according to the NATO Manual on Codification (Allied Codification
Publication 1/ACodP-1) rules, e.g. enabling Jordan to reach Tier 2 sponsorship.
1.1.4 To achieve Tier 2 sponsorship, Jordan needs to implement a codification system with
an application that complies with the business rules of ACodP-11 and positions Jordan to
exchange data with the other member nations of AC/135.
1.1.5 This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the following services:
1.1.5.1 FIRM REQUIREMENTS:
LOT 1 - Supply and implementation of a NCS
LOT 2.A. - Upgrade of current IT system capacities (hardware and software) to allow
full implementation of the NCS
LOT 2.B. - Provision of appropriate interface(s) with existing ERP systems
1.1.5.2 OPTION: Provision of NCS maintenance and support services over a maximum
period of 4 years.
1.1.6 The NCS will be installed and supported within the premises/sites of the Jordan
National Codification Bureau (NCB) and the Information Technology Directorate in Amman,
Jordan.

CONTRACTOR'S OBLIGATIONS
1.2.1. The contractor shall supply a fully compliant and operational NCS (LOT 1) capable of
data exchange with other NATO Allied Committee 135 (AC/135) member nations according to
the NATO Manual on Codification (Allied Codification Publication 1/ACodP-1) rules at the
premises of the Jordan NCB. In order to install and implement the NCS, the Contractor shall
review and upgrade the current IT system capacities (LOT 2.A.) and ensure appropriate
interfaces with up to 12 ERP system users (LOT 2.B.).
1.2.2. In case the 1.1.5.2 OPTION is exercised, the contractor shall provide maintenance
and support services over a period of maximum four (4) years subject to firm order(s) issued
by NSPA.
TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
For the purposes of this SOW the terms and definitions shown in Table 1 shall apply.
