This book is written by two authors: Andie Cunningham,
kindergarten teacher and researcher, and Ruth Shagoury,
university teacher and researcher. The text describes Andie’s
kindergarten classroom. Throughout it, Ruth is occasionally
referred to as a participant in the class. We have chosen to write
this book from the teacher perspective, using the first person sin-
gular. We hope this eliminates the awkwardness that often comes
from coauthored manuscripts.
