A GLIMPSE OF THE COOPERATIVE

The Cooperative was founded on January 24, 2008 and was named the
Providers Savings and Credit Cooperative (PSCC). Twenty-four
Cooperators who were all employees of the Commission On Audit (COA)
in the Province of Isabela voluntarily joined together and organized the
Vision Cooperative with an initial capital of P500.00 each totaling P12,000.00.
On July 21, 2008, the registration of the Cooperative name and its
Articles of Cooperation and By-laws was approved by the Cooperative
Development Authority (CDA) with an authorized share capital of Four
A World Class Million Pesos (P4M)

Cooperative The PMPC Center is a two-storey building located at 1 Asian Highway
(AH) 26, Magsaysay, Naguilian, Isabela. The Cooperative has established
serving Filipinos four satellite offices which are serving members in Cagayan Valley
Region.

On its seventh year, the General Assembly approved the BOD proposal to
create various programs which led to the amendment of the cooperative
articles and by-laws and the cooperative transformation from savings and
credit to a multi-purpose cooperative.

On August 11, 2015 the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)
approved the registration of its name, the Providers Multi-Purpose
Cooperative (PMPC) including the amended articles and by-laws.

Mission Inspired with the expanded purposes and services, the PMPC vision and
mission were designed with our distinctive logo that symbolize our desire
to transform and become greater through cooperative.

Enrich the lives As of December 31, 2017, the total assets and equity of PMPC is
P1.4 billion and P440.95 million, respectively. The total amount of
of members and Members’ paid-up capital is P403.20 million.

the community The number of members has grown with a total of 13,843 composed of
3,175 regular members and 10,668 associate members with one vision
and purpose.

THE PROVIDERS SYMBOL

Our LOGO is our identity. It has a big letter P, engraved in a square shaped, red colored base
and with white smooth edges. The letter P stands for God’s PROVIDENTIAL Care. It is among
the things we believed and the truth of God’s constant overruling care. The square symbolizes
community, integrity, direction, and being practical and elemental. It makes the members
feel they have a strong foundation in life. The smooth white edges that enclose the square
base represent powers, authorities and limitations.

Since 2008 we feel HIS presence guiding us in every step we take.
Our SIGNAGE is our design to communicate our advocacy. The name “PROVIDERS”
signifies our acceptance of the responsibilities as an instrument in helping
breadwinners provide for their family needs.

Our tag line “… greater through cooperative” labels our foundational belief that
united by cooperative values and principles, we become one yet grander.

We are proud of our vision and mission. Our vision will lead us to ways that will help us fulfill
our responsibilities as “PROVIDERS” towards alleviating the living condition of members and
the community.

The six (6) red rows represent the major programs, which packaged the services our members
desire and deserve.

The two (2) blue columns reflect the strong foundation of the Cooperative. In a rectangular
gold brass, the names of the 24 Cooperators and the five (5) Cooperating Board of Directors
are inscribed. These people joined together to demonstrate their belief that one is greater
through cooperative and to encourage others to juncture in their belief.

The Providers Colors
Red
The color red is the color of energy, passion and action. Red is energizing. It excites the
emotions and motivates us to take action. It signifies a pioneering spirit and leadership qualities,
promoting ambition and determination. It is also strong-willed and can give confidence to those
who are shy or lacking in will power.
Blue
The color blue is the color of trust and responsibility. This color relates to trust, honesty and
dependability. Blue adds strength and unity, and is therapeutic to the mind and body. It exhibits
an inner security and confidence. It can also transform people’s thinking and beliefs into
developing new insights and a pioneering spirit. It imparts a message of great responsibility and
high ideals.
White
The Color white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion. White’s basic feature is
equality, implying fairness and impartiality, neutrality and independence. White is calming as it
creates simplicity, organization and efficiency. It clears the way forward. White is totally
reflective, awakening openness, growth and creativity.
Gold
The Color Gold is the color of wealth, success and status. Gold is generous and giving,
compassionate and loving, the benefactor or patron, sharing its wisdom, knowledge and wealth
with others. Gold is the color of the winner. It is the color of success, achievement and
triumph, associated with abundance and prosperity, quality, prestige, and value.

PROVIDERS MPC HISTORY

The high demand for lending services led to the creation of the Providers Savings and Credit Cooperative,
now Providers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC), from an enterprise to partnership, partnership to corporation
and corporation to a cooperative. The lending business had a a humble beginning. On February 13, 2002, a
Community Lending Enterprise was founded by the incumbent PMPC Chairperson Marie Dee B. Belagan. As
clientele and lending services continued to expand, a stronger capital base was needed, thus a business
partner, Maria A. Magaoay, joined the business on February 8, 2003 that led to the formation of BelMag
Partners, Co (BPC). The BelMag Partners encouraged their relatives to invest in the partnership who joined the
partners as incorporators transforming the BPC to BelMag Prime Loan Shop, Inc. (BPLSI). Due to increasing
lending activities the partners accepted investments from some friends in the form of long-term deposits, assured
of fixed rate of return on their investments. Looking forward to a vigorous and member-focused lending service,
the incorporators and investors of BPLSI agreed to form a Cooperative giving birth to the Providers Savings and
Credit Cooperative (PSCC), thus the tag line, “…. greater through cooperative”.

The Cooperative was organized on January 24, 2008. Twenty-four Cooperators who were all employees

capital of P500.00 each or a total of P12,000.00. On July 21, 2008, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)
approved the Articles of Cooperation and By-laws of PSCC with an authorized share capital of four million pesos
(P4M).

On its first year of operation, BPLSI and PSCC entered into agreement concerning transfer of funds
originally invested with BPLSI including personnel, knowledge and skills necessary in pursuing the lending
service and the lease of the BPLSI’s office and premises. With the increase of cooperative resources and
expansions in area of coverage, two (2) cooperating directors, namely: Marie Dee B. Belagan and Maria A.
Magaoay retired from the COA in order to serve the cooperative better. The Cooperative was first governed by
its cooperating Board of Directors (BOD) headed by Chairperson Marie Dee B. Belagan, with Vice Chairperson
Olivia T. Cureg and three BOD members, namely: Maria A. Magaoay, Charito Rosario O. Aggabao and Cecilia C.
Racimo.

PSCC was built as planned to grow into a Luzon-wide lending institution that is member-focused, fast-
moving, flexible and responsive lending institution. In order to reach out its members, PMPC established four (4)
satellite offices in Alicia, Isabela, Tumauini, Isabela, Roxas, Isabela and in Cabarroguis, Quirino. The Board of
Directors set the new PSCC vision, “A world-class cooperative serving Filipinos”.

On March 8, 2015 during the 7th Annual General Assembly Meeting, a GA resolution was approved for
the Co-op transformation from Providers Savings and Credit Cooperative to Providers Multi-Purpose Cooperative
and for the amendment of its purposes to include various lines of services.

PMPC is on its dynamic move to reach out to more communities as it continues to strengthen itself in its
growth not only in lending activities and area of coverage but more significantly to being able to sustain various
services and maintain a sound financial position.

CDA CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

Greetings to the Providers Multi-purpose Cooperative on the occasion of
th
your 10 Annual General Assembly Meeting.

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) together with eleven
offices, have been put under the Office of the Cabinet Secretary and have
exemplified to the highest degree an amazing pro-people leadership with a
strong national mindset that gives adherence to empowering the poor and
the marginalize sectors so they can be drawn into the mainstream of
development process.
We, at the CDA, have been vigilant in our commitment to give voice to the
cooperative sector and for the “wheel” of cooperative development to be
put into motion. There are now some 26,600 cooperatives in the
Philippines with some 14 million members coming from all walks of life
who have good stories to tell, of how they have been liberated from the quagmire of poverty be they farmers,
fisher folks, workers, women, persons with disabilities and even former combatants who have left armed struggle
to now peacefully working for social justice and equity through cooperativism.
We can aptly claim that cooperativism and development are two sides of the same coin based on the following
premises: First, the poor have to bind themselves together to seek redress against poverty by harnessing their
collective potentials; Second, attacking the root cause of poverty which is the powerlessness of the people makes
it imperative to empower the poor; and Thirdly, social justice demands the rectification of social flaws and no one
can do it except through the collective efforts of those who are increasingly marginalized.
Cooperativism is the path towards capability-building and empowerment. It is the sole remedial measure to put
those in the margins into the mainstream of development processes. Through their cooperatives, people are
enhancing their human capital, and in effect, nurture their ecological wealth.
It can be likened to the Gandhian approach of Satyagraha, meaning, love force. Through love, unity and spirit
service which is the essence of cooperativism, the people will finally prevail!

CHAIRPERSON’S MESSAGE

Magandang Buhay!

For ten (10) years, Providers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) have
been filled with commitment and hopes to provide means in enriching the
life of members and the community. The growth, challenges and
opportunities of the coop since it was organized on January 24, 2008 were
greatly amazing. It started with genuine intentions of the founding and
incumbent Board of Directors that were sustained with the competence
and the diligent efforts of management team. By word of mouth, the
values, disciplines and opportunities of PMPC were massively campaigned
to various sectors.

Year 2017 marks the success of the Providers Transport Services with 750
tricycle units released to members for their livelihood as of end of the year. This number is expected to grow
vigorously as we launch today the Providers Kawasaki Dealership (PKD).
Year 2017, also, paved the way for the realization of a big dream. A dream to establish a level 3 hospital in the
Province of Isabela with modern facilities and equipment. Initially, a 93-bed hospital highlights a milestone for
year 2018 as we inaugurate today the Providers MPC Medical Center, shortly named as PMC.
PMPC has provided a lot of employment, livelihood and entrepreneurial opportunities for members. We entered
into partnership with National Government Agencies, Local Government Units, Government Banks and Secondary
Cooperatives to have a unified effort in improving the quality of life of the members and the community. Our
brand is our choice that expresses our desire to provide the stakeholders the value of cooperation, services to
meet their needs and to contribute to the creation of responsible and sustainable societies everywhere we do
business. We endeavor to increase awareness and understanding of our vision of a world-class cooperative
serving Filipinos.
