Who we are

From 1995, we have been operating to sustain the development of agriculture which, by
modernizing instruments, renews the vitality of the natural environment and so giving a new
prominence to the social function of farmers.
In “Terre dell’Adriatico” entrepreneurs and agricultural technicians collaborate with experts in
computer science, documentation, management and business administration, economy and
marketing.

Our aims

• To facilitate the circulation of the agricultural products of eco-compatible qualities
(organic and bio-dynamic etc) by promoting the awareness of the different needs and
expectations of producers, consumers and sellers;

• To aid the promotion of the relationships with the administration activity and public
laws (European, national and local), in order to increase the whole efficiency of the
economic activity of the producers;

• To develop research and projects to solve agronomic, managerial and marketing
problems, for a production which respects the environment;

• To provide complete, clear information and documentation to agricultural technicians,
managers, sellers and consumers according to their individual needs.

BIOSFERA wants to make information exchanges easier by allowing the producers to know
the situation of the market promptly, as well as to express their own needs and experiences
and to take the actual flexibility of their companies into consideration.

The services the database offers, available on Internet, consist in three fields:
• database about the market;
• database about organic agriculture technical processes;
• database about the laws concerning the organic field.

• PROMOTION

1996 - 1998
Planning and realization of BIOTER system, financed according to the CE 2081/93 reg. And
co-financed by the Marche Region to promote and sell the organic agricultural products in the
poorer areas of 5b purpose.
BIOTER is an information service on Internet, able to gather all offers of organic products to
potential customers.
It is a sort of telematic show room, offering the local products and presenting not only the
product but also the geographical area concerned, in order to maintain a strong relation
between the product and its place.
Besides the promotion of organic agricultural products, BIOTER also presents organic
farmhouses, craftsmanship activities, exhibition programs and cultural opportunities.

1997
Founding of the Consorzio Terre dell’Adriatico, for the commercialization of organic products,
that became Consorzio TerraBio s.c.a.r.l. in 2000.

1999 - 2003
Collaboration, through a convention with the Proscenio Association, to build the Internet
community Greenplanet (www.greenplanet.net), supplying contents and services to the
organic sector and to the customers.

2000
Collaboration with the Associazione Terra Sana Marche, an organization of organic farmers, in
the vocational training field.

2001
Convention with the Agriculture Vocational Training Centre “F. Mancini” (Foligno, PG) to
collaborate in the rural vocational training field, particularly focused on organic farming.

2002
Collaboration with the Public Higher Education Institute “F.M. Della Rovere” (Urbania, PU), in

Expert”, financed by Ascoli Piceno Province;

Joining the MARCHE EQUE consortium, set up in Osimo, to develop business activities oriented
to the strengthening of the sustainable economy (bio-architecture, production and processing
of organic agri-food products, sustainable urban development, sustainable energy production,
fair financing and payment systems, fair trade, etc.) and based on social justice criteria.

Joining REES MARCHE Association, that gathers together a large amount of bodies and
association to promote and disseminate new forms of activities oriented to sustainable
development and fair financing and trade.

2007
Starting up, in partnership with AMAB, of SEDAB (Organic Agriculture Information Service) at
the Senigallia Town Library, under the patronship of the Town Council and Marche Region,
within the Libraries Network developed in collaboration with SINAB (Organic Agriculture
National Information System) of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari and of the
Italian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Policies.

In this contest, Terre dell’Adriatico has independently developed his own capability to
organise and carry out special events as:

• INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

January 2003 – September 2003
Projecting, setting up and carrying out the 600 hours Vocational Training and Updating Course,
“Managing and Developing Organic Farming Enterprises”, directed to 50 Argentinean farmers
with Italian nationality, in collaboration with Agencia de Desarrollo CREAR and with FUNBAPA
(Fundacion Barrera Patagonica), General Roca, Argentina, Rio Negro Province.
The course has been approved and entirely funded by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and
Forestry, Rome, and carried out in partnership with Omnikos s.p.a., Rome.

2005-2009
Planning and operative coordination of “LIFE Environment 2005”, SAPID, (Strategy for
Agricultural Products Identity Defence, Wide Area Protection of Agriculture Products Identity
from Gmo Pollution), approved by UE Commission in September 2005, in behalf of ASSAM and
Marche Region
The project, which duration is 42 months (November 2005 – April 2009), will be carried out in
collaboration with ASSAM, Marche Region, Asteria s.r.l., Town Counsil of Urbino, The
Experimental Animal Health Care of Marche and Umbria Region in Perugia, Terrabio
(Association of organic farmers)in Urbino.
Afterwards, the following Marche Region professional farming organizations have joined the
project: AMAB, CIA, COLDIRETTI, COPAGRI, UNIONE AGRICOLTORI.
This is a highly innovative project which deals with coexistence of GMO/NON GMO farming
productions and identity preservation of quality products.

The project, which duration is 3 years (2006 – 2008), will be carried out in collaboration with 4
Italian partners:, A.Ve.Pro.Bi, ARTA Abruzzo, PROBER, Bio Gargano and 5 foreign partners:
ECON, Economic Co-operation Network and ARDA NW, Accredited Regional Development
Agency Northwest (Bosnia Herzegovina), Organic Food Association Terra’s (Serbia), OAA,
Organic Agriculture Association (Albania), Split-Dalmatia County, Department of economy,
development and reconstruction (Croatia).
This is a highly innovative project, which goals are the promotion of social and economic
development and cooperation among the Countries on the Adriatic Area, technical assistance
to organic farming, development of the market of organic agricultural products, commercial
integration of organic agrifood productions and establishment of a permanent network of
information interchange.
The project is starting up.

2007-2009
Partner on LEONARDO project “E(co)-Qualify” Qualifications Standard for Organic
Retailers.
The project, which duration is 24 months (december 2007 – december 2009), will be carried
out in collaboration with Institut equalita (Germany), Lead Partner, ŽIVÝ VENKOV o.s. (Czech
republic), ORA (Austria), Business Coaching Partners (Austria), Ökomarkt Hamburg e.V.
(Germany), Groenhorst-College (Netherlands).
The objective of this Innovation Transfer Project is to upgrade the qualification standards
developed in the Leonardo da Vinci project "Eco-Qualify 1” to a comprehensive European
quality assurance system for the further education in organic foods trade and to transfer it to
the participating partner countries of Austria, Italy, Netherlands, the Czech Republic and
Germany. This is to ensure that the further education measures in the various states of the
European Union will be carried out at the same high level of quality. A comprehensive system
of quality assurance and certification with internationally comparable criteria as an obligatory
and controllable framework shall be installed.

• TRAINING FIELD

The ASSOCIAZIONE TERRE DELL’ADRIATICO deals with vocational training, especially using
ESF funds.
Our vocational training contents go from organic farming and environment protection to
specialized informatics. Our Association has been formally accredited by Marche Region for
vocational training (D.M. 16/2001, D.G.R. 62/2001 e 2164/2001, con decreti n. 898 del 31
ottobre 2002 e n. 139 del 16 marzo 2004 del Dirigente del Servizio Professionale e Problemi
del Lavoro) in all kinds of courses: compulsory training, lifelong learning and high level
training.
