Introduction
Microeublia isagenusofminuteinsectscomposedofsixspecies,andwide_
Spread inSoutheast Asia(LEE& YANG,1994; LEE&JAcH, 1996).However, their
smallsizeresultedinneglectionbymostcollectors.Thereareonlya fewspecimens
depositedinmuseumsandthetypeseriesofeachspeciesisnogreaterthanthreespec_
imens.WeexaminedsixspecimensdepositedintheNaturhistorischesMuseumBasel,
andastheresult,wehaverecognized4species.ThreeofthembelongtoM.semlstri_
ata,M minimaandM. l-etlculata,andtheremainingoneisanewspeciestobede-
scribedinthepresentpaper.AllthespecimenswerecollectedinIndia,whichseemsto
indicatethat thespeciesdiversityofMid,oeubria isratherhigh in thatpart of the
wortd.

laterallydilated.Elytra1striae(Fig 2)similartothoseinM reticulata,butapicalmesh

Malegenitalia(Fig 3): - Aedeagus600ｵm long,3.4X as longaswide.Penis
very short, about 0.4X length of aedeagus; apex narrowly rounded; base-lateral
apophyseslong,about0.7X lengthofpenis.Parameresabout 0.3X lengthoftegmen,
ventro-mesa1marginsveryweaklyconvex.Tegmengradually widenedtowardbasal

Diagnosis. ThisspeciesiscloselyrelatedtoM reticulata,butdiffersfromitby
thereducedelytra1meshes,theshorterapicalprocessofpenis,theweaklyconvexven-
tro-mesalmarginsofparameres,andthemediallynarrowedaedeagus.
Etymology. Dedicatedtotheeminentcoleoptero1ogist,Dr.WWITTMER.
