Preface
This book provides modern, technological aspects, such as machine learning (ML),
artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT), for the implementation of
Society 5.0. The book aims to provide the reader with a firm foundation and under
standing of the recent advances in various domains, such as data analytics, neural
networks, computer vision, and robotics. The book will provide a state-of-the-art
look at these domains as well.
This book will cover various emerging technologies like AI, ML, Data Science,
IoT, and big data applied for the realization of Society 5.0. The key feature of this
book will be the presentation of practical solutions to existing problems in the fields
of health care, banking, infrastructure management, smart cities, and more.
The book may be used by research scholars in the engineering domain who wish
to contribute to a modern and secure society. IT professionals may refer to it for
detailed examples, which enable them to be more productive in the implementation
of ideas. University faculty may propose it to postgraduate students to refer to it for
technological advancements.
The book content will be oriented toward Society 5.0 challenges, technology
applications, and concrete implementations using ML, AI, big data, IoT, etc. The cor
relation between these technologies will also be explained by examples and case
studies.
While we concentrate on practical applications in the fields of health care, image
processing, networking, green cities, security, and others, we do so without glossing
over the important formal details and theories necessary for a deeper understand
ing of the topics. The theoretical part is also important for understanding a topic
completely.
