Preface
This book contains extended and revised versions of a set of selected papers from the
17th International Conference on Transport Systems Telematics, TST 2017, held in
Katowice and Ustroń, Poland, April 5–8, 2017. The TST conference aims to bring
together researchers, engineers, and practitioners interested in intelligent transport and
otheraspectsofinformationandtelecomunicationsystemsandtechnologiesinvolving
advanced applications.
Thebookpresentsknowledgefromthefieldofintelligenttransportsystems,specific
solutionsappliedinthisfield,andtheirinfluenceontheefficiencyoftransportsystems
improvement.
This year we met for the 17th time and the Polish Association of Transport
Telematics was the main conference organizer. The conference was related to the
intelligenttransportsystemsdevelopmentprogramintheareaofallmodesoftransport
infrastructure and enabled the exchange of experience and knowledge of the latest
technologies and trends in the development of ITS systems.
The publication constitutes a collection of the scientific achievements presented by
their authors during the conference sessions. Nearly 130 papers were submitted to the
conference, focussing on all of the different modes of transport infrastructure, which
were presented - apart from the plenary session - in 6 scientific sessions, 2 poster
sessions, and 2 sessions of scientific announcements.
This book comprises approximately 30% of the submitted papers. The papers were
selected by the Program Committee members and their selection was based on a
number of criteria that included the classifications and comments provided by the
session chairs and also the program chairs’ global view of all papers included in the
conference program. The authors of selected papers were then invited to submit a
revised version of their papers.
I would like to thank all the authors for their contributions and also the reviewers,
who helped to ensure the quality of this publication.
