six national monuments . . . Wupatki, Sunset Crater, Walnut Canyon, Montezuma
Well, Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot.
Any one of these scenic and cultural spots is worth a trip to Flagstaff in itself.
More and more families are now returning to Flagstaff to spend a complete vacation,
taking in at least one point of interest each day, returning to Flagstaff for a restful

beauty, National Scenic Parks and Monuments than in any other area in America. Camp
ing, fishing, swimming, hunting — all summer and winter sports — are here for you,

GRAND CANYON, South Rim, Greatest of the World's Seven Wonders, North from
Flagstaff on Highway 180, thru Aspen Forests (be sure to take the trip to the Ski Bowl
and ride the chair lift to the top of Arizona) and circle thru Grand Canyon Park on Ari
zona 64 to Highway 89 back via Grey Mountain, WUPATKI NATIONAL MONUMENT, (In
dian Ruins), and SUNSET CRATER NATIONAL MONUMENT and back to the cool pines.
South from Flagstaff on Highway 89A: OAK CREEK (great fishing, swimming), RED
ROCK SEDONA AREA (one of the world's most beautiful drives; JEROME, ghost city,
TUTZIGOOT, MONTEZUMA WELL AND MONTEZUMA CASTLE NATIONAL MONU

North on Highway 89, turn at Bitter Springs over Navajo Bridge to Jacob's Lake to
North Rim of GRAND CANYON or from Bitter Springs, Northeast to Page, LAKE POW
ELL, GLEN CANYON DAM & BRIDGE. Spectacular'. Or on Highway 89, turn east North
of Cameron on St 264 to the land of God's Skyscrapers, fantastic Monument Valley, then
south to CANYONde CHELLY NATIONAL MONUMENT, and back west to Flagstaff thru
HOPI LAND and you will have seen America's oldest and newest cultures.
Around Flagstaff are 12 observatories, including Lowell; a great place to see Indians
performing, in the MUSEUM OF NORTHERN ARIZONA; Pioneer's HISTORICAL SO
CIETY, BUFFALO PARK, GRAND FALLS, (higher than Niagara); METEOR CRATER
and WALNUT CANYON NATIONAL MONUMENT and so many other places they could
not be adequately described.
