regard to rights of accused before international criminal tribunals. At the
same time, it significantly influences the day-to-day trial management of
majorwarcrimestrials.Thisworktriestoapproachthetopicofself-repre-
sentationbeforeinternationalcriminaltribunalsfromapracticalperspective
whichhopestoshedlightonthereasonsforwhichthecurrentsystemisin
needforchange.
