Preface
Wearedelightedtointroducetheproceedingsofthe18thEAIInternationalConference
onSecurityandPrivacyinCommunicationNetworks(SecureComm2022).Thiscon-
ference brought together researchers and practitioners working in academia, industry,
government,toexploreimportantresearchdirectionsinthefield.
Theseproceedingscontain40papers,whichwereselectedfrom126submissions(an
acceptancerateof31.7%)fromuniversities,nationallaboratories,andtheprivatesector
from the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australasia, and Africa. All the submissions went
throughanextensivereviewprocessbyinternationallyrecognizedexpertsincybersecu-
rity.Theacceptedpapersareauthoredbyresearchersfrom11countries,withChinaand
theUSAbeingthetoptwocountrieswiththemostpapers.Theseproceedingsalsocon-
tainthreepapersfromtheInternationalWorkshoponSecurityandPrivacy-preserving
SolutionsintheInternetofThings(S/P-IoT).
Anysuccessfulconferencerequiresthecontributionsofdifferentstakeholdergroups
andindividuals,whohaveunselfishlyvolunteeredtheirtimeandenergyindisseminating
thecallforpapers,submittingtheirresearchfindings,participatinginthepeerreviews
and discussions, etc. First and foremost, we would like to offer our gratitude to the
entireOrganizingCommitteeforguidingtheentireprocessoftheconference.Weare
also deeply grateful to all the Technical Program Committee members for their time
andeffortsinreading,commenting,debating,andfinallyselectingthepapers.Wealso
thankalltheexternalreviewersforassistingtheTechnicalProgramCommitteeintheir
particular areas of expertise as well as all the authors, participants, and session chairs
for their valuable contributions. Support from the Steering Committee and EAI staff

The18thSecureCommConferencewasoriginallyplannedtobeheldinKansasCity,
KS, USA. It is unfortunate that we had to revert to an online conference in 2022. We
hopethatthediscussionsandinteractionswereenjoyable,andthattheproceedingswill
