SAS®Essentials:MasteringSASforDataAnalytics,SecondEditionisaground-upintro-
ductiontoSASstatisticalsoftwareaimedatstudentstakinganappliedstatisticscourseas
wellasindividualswhowanttolearnSASforpersonaluseortosupplementpreparation
fortheSASBaseCertificationExam.Mostchaptersaredesignedsothatthematerialcan
be covered in a 1-hour computer lab class. The book is sectioned into two parts. Part 1
(Chapters1–8)coverstheSASprogramminglanguage,primarilytheDATAstepandhow
topreparedatafilesforanalysis.Part2(Chapters9–19)coverscommonlyusedSASpro-
cedures.Manychaptersarestand-alone,andreaderscanselecttocovertheminadifferent
orderorleavesomeoutentirely.Thisbookusesahands-onprogrammingapproachtoteach-
ingandisfilledwithHands-onExamplesthatwillhelpthereaderstepthroughthelearning
process.
ItusestheWindowsversionofSAS9.4forexamples,althoughthevastmajorityofthe
informationisapplicableonanySASplatform.
AlthoughtherearemillionsofSASinstallationsaroundtheworld,thereisasteeplearn-
