Notice is hereby given to all prospective bidders that plans and specifications on the subject project are
modified as hereinafter set forth. This Addendum shall be attached to and form a part of the plans and
specifications. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the Bid Form. In case of
difference with previous addenda or communications, this addendum takes precedence.
It is the responsibility of all bidders to notify all subcontractors from whom they request bids and from
whom they accept bids of all changes contained in this addendum.

drain work is BASE BID.

Description: Add the removal of 18” x 30” concrete slab near new TRX pad entrance.

Description: Revise northerly seat wall to align southerly face with existing building
face. This extends the tile surface area (including tile, pervious concrete,
compacted pervious subgrade) from approx. 96-ft X 39-ft to approx. 97.5-
ft x 39-ft.

Add eight concrete (3000 psi, not pervious concrete) footings 18” x 18” x
8” deep for anchorage of the TRX units using four 3/8” x 5” 316 SS
expansion (wedge) anchor bolts per leg. Top of concrete footing to be
flush with pervious concrete. Neatly cut tiles to accommodate legs, and
underside of tiles to cover TRX mounting plate and anchor bolts. Spacing
and location of the reinforced concrete footings to be verified in field
during final layout with the measurements from the TRX units on-site.

Add scored joints in pervious concrete 15-ft spacing each way.

Add ½” expansion joint, expansion foam (polyurethane-based) filler and
caulking (three sides) along interface of pervious concrete to existing
building wall. Clarify that the expansion joint along the interface of
pervious concrete to seat wall is to be ½”, have expansion foam
(polyurethane-based) filler and caulking (three sides) also.

Description: Add stirrups on every other vertical bar in seat wall. Clarify that all bars to
be #5 @ 16” OC.

EXISTING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS CONDITIONS

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY

A. Some materials and items found at the Project Site(s) either contain or may contain materials known
to the State of California to be either hazardous, carcinogenic or reproductive toxins.

B. Attachments to this Document summarize Reference Documents, including known existing
conditions, historical data, and the contract drawings prepared for the District and available to
Contractor(s) preparing bids.

C. The information attached or contained herein is a summary only and does not replace nor supersede
the specific data in the attachments(s) and Work Plan, unless indicated otherwise.

1.2 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS REPORT(S)

A. The District in coordination with its’ Environmental Consultant(s) have surveyed the sites for various
hazardous materials. Materials surveyed generally include asbestos, lead, PCB ballasts, mercury-
containing lamps, and other hazardous materials as noted. The survey findings are documented in the
District’s AHERA Survey Reports and are available through the District Project Manager for this
project and through the District’s Asbestos Control Program offices for Contractor’s viewing by
appointment.

B. The District may have conducted hazardous materials abatement at the project facility. The abatement
oversight information is generally available through the District’s Project Manager for this project and
through the District Asbestos Control Program offices for Contractor’s viewing by appointment.

C. Where not included as an attachment or appendix to the Work Plan, copies of any referenced
report(s) may be reviewed at the Asbestos Control Program’s offices by making an appointment.

1.3 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS REPORT(S) - SUMMARY INFORMATION

A. Asbestos Hazards: Certain existing building components or materials which may be impacted by the
Work of this Project with respect only to the areas affected by the scope of renovation (except
where noted) are known or presumed to contain asbestos.

1. All materials listed in the District’s AHERA files or as parts of or attachments to the Contract
Documents as having greater than 1 percent (>1%) asbestos content shall be classified as
asbestos-containing materials (ACM) per 8 CCR 1529.

2. ACMs subject to abatement or disturbance by this project are identified in the Work Plan and
Contract Drawings.

3. Suspect surfacing materials, such as plasters, sprayed-on acoustical treatments and structural
fireproofing, and thermal system insulation (TSI) installed prior to 1980 shall be considered or
presumed asbestos-containing materials (PACM) by the Contractor, for purposes of this
Contract, unless specifically tested and determined to have an asbestos content less than one
percent (<1%) by PLM (by layer, including point counting to confirm trace or <1% asbestos
content). Where no test data is available, it shall be assumed that such materials have an
asbestos content greater than one percent (>1%), and shall be managed as an asbestos-
containing material (ACM).

4. Materials not tested which shall be assumed by the Contractor to have an asbestos content
greater than 1 percent (>1%), until confirmed by inspection and/or laboratory testing,
shall include:

Lowell HS

a. Exterior asbestos cement (transite) underground sewer, water, and drain piping located or
encountered throughout the project site(s)

Burton HS

a. Exterior asbestos cement (transite) underground sewer, water, and drain piping located or
encountered throughout the project site

5. Should any of the following be encountered on sites (exposed through demolition and/or
confirmed by supplementary sampling) with respect only to the areas affected by the
scope of renovation, the following materials should be considered as having an asbestos
content greater than 1 percent (>1%)

a. Any exterior suspect asphalt paving or walkway found associated with the project sites

b. Any suspect Naturally Occurring Asbestos (NOA) located or encountered throughout the
project sites

B. Lead Hazards: Representative existing painted or coated surfaces to be impacted by the Work of this
Project are known or suspected to contain lead are reflected in attachments to the Contract
Documents. All similar substrates shall be treated in kind. Where specific sampling is not available, the
Contractor shall treated all painted surfaces as having a lead content greater than 90 ppm requiring
dust controls and personal protective procedures for “trigger 1” construction activities in compliance
with 8 CCR 1532.1.

C. The following paint coatings were not tested but, the Contractor, for the purposes of this Contract,
shall assume, and manage, them as lead-containing with respect only to the areas affected by the
scope of renovation (except where noted).

Lowell HS

a. Any painted striping on track components
b. Any painted structure or component associated with the track and field area or TRX
Physical Ed expansion
c. Plumbing components, such as pipes, fittings and solders with the track and field area or
TRX Physical Ed expansion

Burton HS

a. Any painted component associated with the backstop of the softball field
b. Any painted structure or component associated with the softball field

Note: Only wood components for the Burton HS backstop have been characterized for disposal. Per
analytical data, the backstop has been found to be disposed of as construction debris. All other
materials produced from renovation processes (soil, painted components, metal not for recycling)
shall require as needed waste characterization and profiling. All handling and disposal shall be
performed in accordance with all applicable Cal OSHA regulations and DTSC regulations.
