The Scottish Photographic Federation are delighted to bring
you the 93rd Scottish International Salon of Photography.
After running last year with FIAP and PSA, RPS and
PAGB patronage, we added patronage from GPU (Global
Photographers Union) giving us even more medals and
awards to present.
Once again we had nine Judges for our six sections. This
included a panel of three Nature specialist Judges who
selected the Nature Print and PDI sections.
This year we were again to receive a record number of
entries. We received a total of 6812 Projected Images,
up on last year, but although the prints were down slightly,
were very pleased to receive a good entry with 2607
prints. Proportionately more prints were received from the
UK and China than elsewhere.
This year also saw a good representation in the number of
countries that we received work from, with 56 Countries
represented, and after the Judging, I’m very pleased to
say that 55 of these countries are represented in this
year’s Acceptances.
Congratulations to all of the authors that have been
successful this year, and also to the winners of the Best
Club Awards, particularly to Shangtuf Image and Art Club
who have won for the fourth year running.
Please come along to our Exhibition where you can see all
of the award winning Prints and PDIs and a large selection
of this year’s Acceptances. If you can’t manage along
please visit our gallery area on our Salon website where
you will fi nd all of this year’s award winning photographs
displayed in six galleries.

DES CLINTON FRPS MFIAP FIPF is from Drogheda in Ireland. A London
Salon member and resipient of the RPS’s Fenton Medal in 2012, he has
been on the Distinction’s panels of the RPS and the Irish Photographic
Federation for over 10 years. Des has photographed his native Ireland
both North and South extensively for forty years documenting the people,
the landscape, culture, wildlife, religious events and the troubles. Recently
he has managed to spread his wings and visit places he always only
dreamed of visiting. His images of Eastern Europe are iconic and thought
provoking.
SIMON ALLEN EFIAP MPAGB APAGB is from Annan, and has been a
member and secretary of Dumfries CC for many years. A past member
of the SPF Executive, he has been involved in the running of the Scottish
Salon on 3 occasions when Dumfries hosted it. Simon is a prolifi c Judge
and exhibitor, entering his fi rst International in ‘86. “I enjoy photography
