anduninterruptedaccesstoalloftheservers’physicalresources.
HPEAPMandmanydatacollectorshave,however,beeninstalledsuccessfullyandhavehadsome
performancetestingcompletedinvirtualenvironments.Ascorporatedatacentersmovemoretowardsa
virtualizedenvironment,itisHPESoftware’sdesiretoprovideforproperlydesignedinstallationsofHPE
APManditsdatacollectorsonvirtualservers.

andreliablemonitoringfoundation.Consistencyprovidesabasisforlongtermtrendingofmetrics,
comparisonofmetricsfromoneperiodtoanother,andtheeventualsupportofcontractualobligations
associatedwithservicelevelmanagement.Itisacceptabletohavethemetricsvaryfromtheactual
performanceaslongastheyareconsistent.Ifthemetricsarenotconsistentintheirvariationorrelation
totheactualbusinessservice,thentheycannotbeusedforproductionmonitoringorperformance
analysisbecausenoappropriatebaselinewillcompensateforthevariations.Forthisreason,response
