A Paris, les Rolling Stones dansaient avec le diable au banquet des mendiants. Janis Joplin deboulait sur les platines. Jacques Prevert et Antoine Blondin refaisaient le monde a la Cantine du Circus. Richard Bohringer n’avait pas encore de Cesar. Gene Vincent voulait une caisse de biere pour chanter Be Bop a Lula. Michel Polnareff s’etait planque dans une poubelle pour echapper aux coups de couteau de sa compagne jalouse. Johnny Hallyday et Jim Morrison etaient inseparables. Dans la nuit du 2 au 3 juillet 1971, les WC du Rock and Roll Circus etaient fermes de l’interieur… Jim Morrison n’etait plus accoude au bar ! Sam Bernett a commence sa carriere au New York Times a New York dans les annees 1960. De retour a Paris il est animateur vedette a RTL et a Europe 1. Fondateur de lieux parisiens devenus cultes: la Tour de Nesles, le Rock and Roll Circus, le Malibu, le Bus Palladium, le Martine’s. Il a egalement dirige l’Elysee Matignon. Sam Bernett a publie Johnny Hallyday: 7 Vies (editions de l’Archipel) et les biographies de Coluche, Renaud, Eddy Mitchell et Johnny Hallyday (Albin Michel).
