aving lived in Australia for three years where they
really do have barbies on the beach on Christmas
Day, I have to confess that I still prefer to spend
Christmas in the UK and especially in London. From the
four week build up to the big day, with any excuse to meet
friends for a pre-Crimbo cocktail to the choosing of the tree
and shopping for personal gifts for my friends and family,
the capital in December is truly a magnificent place to be.
And Richmond at Christmas? It’s so beautifully
traditional that I’d be happy not to step outside its warm
environs for the whole of the festive season. Personally I love
to take a day off work and stroll around all the lovely little
