Foreword
When Festiva Development Group was founded in 2000, we were a small yet experienced team of leaders
launching a brand new vacation company. We were ecstatic when we started sending members on vacation to our
resorts. As the number of members and our number of resorts steadily increased over the years, we continuously
raised our own standards as we grew, always looking for ways to improve our members’ experiences.
When the Festiva Adventure Club began in 2006, it transformed the Festiva member experience. With flexibility
and variety unmatched in our industry, we knew we had something special. From the start we thrived on our
members’ stories about their Festiva experiences.
Birthdays, anniversaries, engagements and weddings. Family reunions, holidays and summer vacation. Special
occasions make fantastic vacations, and we love when our members share those celebrations with Festiva, whether
it’s getting all of the grandchildren together for a week in Branson, getting married on the beach in St. Maarten
or celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary in the mountains of Banner Elk. These are the moments that you’ll
never forget.
Sometimes the vacation itself becomes the celebration. We’ve had members start their own traditions, from visiting
Charleston the same time each year to dining in the same restaurant when they first arrive in Atlantic Beach each
time to making a point to visit a different destination each year. Whether you vacation to celebrate a special date or
you simply need a peaceful getaway, we want you to join our members in making memories that will last a lifetime.

More than 14 years ago, Don Clayton and Butch Patrick had a vision for a vacation

Don and Butch’s original vision has always emphasized a commitment to providing

provides an Employee Stock Ownership Plan to all employees at Festiva and other

My sister, Diane, and I knew we wanted to have some quality time together. After we both retired we shared a home together,
but didn’t see each other much. Having different interests, friends and activities made us feel worlds apart. So I was delighted
when she agreed to go with me on a Festiva cruise to the British Virgin Islands. We sailed for a week in May 2010 and
discovered that this trip more than met both our expectations.
I found the perfect adventure! I had fun snorkeling every day. The diversity of sea life was the best I had ever seen. I had
already experienced snorkeling on the Barrier Reef in Australia, some resorts in Mexico and Belize as well as all the Hawaiian
Islands, but I found the British Virgin Islands to be the best yet! Being a nature-lover, I was equally thrilled by the beautiful
flowers and plant life on the many islands we visited. One dark night I was filled with glee when I saw the Southern Cross in
the same night sky as the Big Dipper. Oh my!
To my relief, Diane had absolutely no complaints! She loved Abilexis, the Lagoon 440 catamaran, with helpful crew and
delicious meals. The open bar contained a good variety of wines, beers and Caribbean liquors. She was impressed with
how clean and spotless everything was on the catamaran. The sleeping berths were air-conditioned and had private baths.
The beautiful wood interior of the boat amazed her. Diane found comfort as there was always a place to find sun or shade
somewhere on the deck. She called it a “5 star intimate-sailing-hotel.”
