About the Editors
Dr. Panagiotes Anastasiades is currently a Professor in the Department of
EducationattheUniversityofCrete,inGreece.HeisalsoaTutorCounselloratthe
HellenicOpenUniversity(PostgraduateLevel,MasterinEducation,Module:Open
and Distance Learning). Since February 2012, he was vice-president of the
PedagogicalInstituteofGreeceandhasthescientificresponsibilityofthe“National
Teachers Training Project”. His current research emphasis focuses on lifelong and
distance learning via advanced learning technologies and social and educational
Informatics.
Dr. Nicholas Zaranis graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer
EngineeringoftheNationalTechnicalUniversityofAthens.HetooktheMasterof
Science in Computer Studies from the University of Essex. Also, he received his
Master of Science and his Ph.D. from the National and Kapodistrian University of
Athens.HehasworkedforaseriesofyearsintheprivatesectorasElectricalEngineer
inHewlettPackardHellasandinpublicsectorasteacherofInformationTechnology
inSecondaryEducation.HeiscurrentlyanAssociateProfessorintheDepartmentof
PreschoolEducationattheUniversityofCrete.HisresearchinterestsincludeICTin
Education,EducationalSoftwareandTeachingofMathematicsusingICT.
