Subject: - RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF WOMAN MEDICAL OFFICER (BS-17)

Reference your application for appointment as Woman Medical Officer
(BS-17), addressed to the Punjab Public Service Commission, Lahore.
2. On the advice of the Punjab Public Service Commission, the Governor of the Punjab is
pleased to offer you a temporary, likely to become permanent, post of Woman Medical Officer in
BPS-17 plus such allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government from time to time subject to
the terms and conditions set out below:
I. Your seniority will be in accordance with the order of merit assigned by the PPSC
irrespective of the actual date of joining.
II. You will be required to serve initially at least for a period of three (03) years at primary and
secondary healthcare facilities.
III. You will be liable to serve anywhere in Punjab and outside as per section 9 of Punjab Civil
Servants Act-1974.
IV. As long as the post remains temporary and you remain on probation for a period of 02
years, extendable to 04 years, in accordance with provisions of Rule-7 of Punjab Civil
Servants (Appointment and Condition) Rules, 1974, your services will be liable to
termination without assigning any reason at one month’s notice or on the payment of one
month’s pay in lieu of the notice. In case you wish to resign at any time, you will have to give
one month’s notice or deposit one month’s salary in public exchequer in lieu of the notice.
V. You will not apply / claim right to deputation and admission to a postgraduate course
whatsoever during initial mandatory service period of three (03) years at primary or
secondary healthcare institutions.
VI. You will be governed by such laws and service rules as may be issued by Government from
time to time.
VII. You will not apply for leave, except under exceptional circumstance (s) determined by the
Competent Authority, during initial mandatory service period of three (03) years at primary
or secondary healthcare institutions.
VIII. In case of grant of extraordinary leave during the period of probation of two (02) years, your
name will be removed from the seniority list and placed on a static list with no claim to
promotion, seniority or confirmation for the period you will remain on extraordinary leave.
IX. Your appointment is subject to the condition that you are not married to a foreign national
and submission of declaration / undertaking as per attached template.
X. Your appointment is subject to the verification of your educational documents from the
concerned examining bodies, PMDC registration by the Council, national identity card by
NADRA and domicile certificate from the concerned district.
XI. (a) Your appointment is subject to your being physically fit and you will be required to
appear before the standing Medical Board and get yourself declared medically fit before
joining. The date of your medical examination will be communicated to you by the
authorities concerned.
(b) You will not be entitled to any TA / DA for presenting yourself before the standing
Medical Board for examination or for joining your first appointment.
XII. (a) You will be allowed private practice unless specifically debarred while attached to a non-
practising post in which case non-practising allowance as sanctioned by Government from
time to time will be allowed. The permission for private practice will be subject to the
condition that it does not interfere with the performance of official duties.
(b) You will not be permitted to open any clinic, private dispensary or nursing home or have
any interest in such a clinic, nursing home, private hospital, dispensary or a druggist shop.
The private practice shall be confined to seeing patients at your own residence or in the
patients’ house or in the private wards of the hospital to which you are attached. You will
not be permitted sale of medicines to patients at your residence.
XIII. You will be bound to comply with the orders of Secretary, Primary & Secondary Healthcare
Department / Competent Authority which he may issue under the provisions of Section 4 of
the Punjab Essential Services (Maintenance) Act, 1958 (XXXIV of 1958), may be invoked, if in
the opinion of in public interest.
XIV. You are required to submit your acceptance within 15 days of the issuance of offer of
appointment but not later than 11th Sep, 2017.
3. In case you fail to appear before the Standing Medical Board on the due date without
good and sufficient reasons to be reported by you in advance to the said Board or if you fail to report
for duty within the stipulated period, the offer made to you will be deemed to have been withdrawn
automatically and no further representation in this behalf shall be entertained.
4. The appointment is subject to verification of your antecedents by the local police. If
anything adverse is found against you in police record, your services will be terminated forthwith.
5. You are required to login and build your online profile through the web portal
“http://beta.hrmis.pshealth.punjab.gov.pk/#/main/jobapplication”. You will download and submit
your acceptance and the preference online through the same portal for posting at DHQs (only non-
teaching), THQs, RHCs and BHUs.
