expects and demands. We have expanded our program to include bulls from cooperators that fit the criteria that Lorenzen Ranches
has selected for over the years. Working with our cooperators, the bulls are selected and put on test in our feedlot in September,
where they are fed and evaluated as a group for a true test. We thank our cooperators for their contributions to our program, and

HOW TO PARTICIPATE AS AN ABSENTEE BUYER
We have made preparations to bid and buy livestock through Superior Productions’ “Call or Click-To-Bid”
service for those unable to attend in person on sale day. Please note that all of the lots in the sale will
also be available for viewing online prior to sale day at www.superiorlive.com.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS
Turn in Bids Over the Phone. This is our traditional method of buying livestock. To get started simply go
online to www.superiorlive.com and click on the tab titled “REGISTER FOR YOUR BUYER’S NUMBER”. Print
the registration form, fill it out and fax it in (817/378-3380) to Superior Productions with a signature on
it. You can also mail it in to the address provided on the form. Upon receipt of this information Superior
will call you with a buyer’s number and the bid line phone number that you will use on sale day to place
bids over the phone.
Click-To-Bid. This is Superior’s newest way to buy cattle! Registration is free, but you must become a
member of www.superiorclicktobid.com to sign up. Becoming a member is easy – just go to the homepage
of www.superiorclicktobid.com and follow the outlined steps to get started. Input your information and
select a username and password. You will receive an e-mail confirming you are a member. From that point
forward you just have to sign in and select the sale you would like to register for and once approved by
the ranch you will receive an e-mail confirming which sale you are now registered for.
Viewing the Auction. The sale will be broadcast via satellite on Dish Network channel 231 and DirecTV
channel 345. The sale will also be broadcast live on the internet at www.superiorclicktobid.com – just
go to the home page and select the auction. Remember you can call in to bid whether you watch on the
TV or on the internet, but you must be a member of www.superiorclicktobid.com to “click-to-bid”. Your
computer must have Flash Media Player installed to view the auction.
Bidders who are successful in making purchases via satellite or internet will be contacted by the
ranch after the sale to settle payment and make shipping arrangements.

CATEGORY: This classifies the animal’s registration according to its percentage of Red Angus Blood.
1A: 100% Red Angus blood content, no disqualifying features.
1B: From 87% to and including less than 100% Red Angus blood content, no disqualifying features.
II: Equal to or greater than 87% up to and including 100% Red Angus blood content having one or more
disqualifying characteristics.
III: Less than 87% Red Angus blood content.
BW: The animal’s actual birth weight.
205 Adj. wt: Adjusted Weaning Weight. Weaning weight adjusted to 205 days and age of dam.
205 Ratio: Weaning Ratio. How an animal’s 205 Adj. wt. compares to the others in its weaning contemporary group.
365 Adj. wt: Adjusted Yearling Weight. Animal’s yearling weight adjusted to 365 days of age.
365 Ratio: Yearling Ratio. How an animal compares to the others in its yearling contemporary group.
ADG: Average Daily Gain on test.
WDA: Weight per day of age.
SCROT: Scrotal size.
FR: Frame Score. A score based on subjective evaluation of height or actual measurement of hip height.
EPDs: Expected Progeny Difference. The expected difference in pounds, in performance of an animal’s progeny
when those progeny are compared to progeny of an animal with an EPD of zero for the trait in question. EPD values
are relative. They do not indicate absolute levels of performance. Rather, they can be used to compare expected
progeny performance of different animals.
BW EPD: The number of pounds heavier or lighter at birth that this bull/female can be expected to produce
compared to the averages of all bulls/females in the breed.
WW EPD: The number of pounds heavier or lighter at 205 days of age that this bull/female can be expected to
produce compared to the average 205 adjusted weights of progeny from all bulls/females in the breed.
YW EPD: The number of pounds heavier or lighter at 365 days of age that this bull/female can be expected to
produce compared to the average 365 adjusted weights of progeny from all bulls/females in the breed.
MILK EPD: The number of pounds heavier or lighter at 205 days expected from this bull’s/female’s daughters’ calves
through milk production alone.
TOTAL MATERNAL EPD: The total amount of weaning weight expected from a bull’s/female’s daughters’ calves
through milk production plus growth potential.
STAYABILITY EPD: The expected difference in probability of daughters staying in the herd to at least six years of age.
ULTRASOUND: Carcass traits measured on yearling bulls and females and adjusted to 365 days. All ultrasound data
will be available as a supplement to this catalog on sale day.
BACKFAT: The 12th-13th rib fat thickness.
REA: Rib Eye Area.
MARB: Percentage of intramuscular fat (marbling).
YG: Yield Grade. Predicts differences of carcass yield grade score and is expressed in USDA Yield Grade score (1-5).
CW: Carcass Weight. Predicts differences in hot carcass weight and is expressed in pounds.
